rity vested in me by the said Act and its amendments, and
of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me
in this behalf, do hereby fix and determine that the cost of
maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing the
decking of the said bridge shall be borne by the Taumarunui
Borough Council, the Manunui Town Board, the Kaitieke
County Council, and the Ohura County Council in the follow-
ing proportions—viz., the Taumarunui Borough Council shall
pay fifty-five per centum, the Manunui Town Board sixteen
per centum, the Kaitieke County Council twenty-seven per
centum, and the Ohura County Council two per centum of
such cost respectively :

And I do also hereby further direct that any contributions
hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Taumarunui
Borough Council, the Manunui Town Board, Kaitieke County
Council, and the Ohura County Council (hereinafter referred
to as “the said local authorities”) shall be paid from time
to time in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed out of the
funds of the said local authorities, within a period of thirty
days after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the
Minister of Railways, and such payments shall be made from
time to time to the said Minister for and on account of the
said local authorities.

SCHEDULE.

THAT bridge over the Wanganui River known as the Mata-
puna combined road and railway bridge, between Block II,
Piopiotea Survey District, Auckland Land District, and
Block II, Hunua Survey District, Wellington Land District,
the site of the said bridge being more particularly located at
the eastern end of the Matapuna Railway-station yard.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this twenty-sixth day of September, one
thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Warrant vesting Control of Portion of Doralto Road in the New
Plymouth Borough Council and apportioning the Cost of
the Maintenance of the Same.

LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.

WHEREAS by section twelve of the Public Works Amend-
ment Act, 1909 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”),
it is provided that where a road or street lies along the boundary
of two or more districts, whether that road or street is wholly
within one or is partly within one and is partly within another
of those districts, or is within none of those districts, the
Governor-General may from time to time, by Warrant under
his hand and gazetted, direct which of the local authorities
of those districts shall have control of the road or street or
of any part thereof ; and may in like manner determine from
time to time whether any other of those local authorities
shall contribute to the cost of construction, maintenance,
or widening or reconstructing of that road or street, and, if
so, in what proportions :

And whereas the portion of Doralto Road described in the
Schedule hereto, and hereinafter termed “the said road,”
forms part of the boundary between the Borough of New
Plymouth and the County of Taranaki :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and
authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
direct that the said road shall from and after the date of
this Warrant be under the control of the New Plymouth
Borough Council ; and, in further pursuance and exercise of
the aforesaid powers and authorities, I do hereby fix and
determine that the cost of construction or maintenance or
widening or reconstructing the said road shall be borne in
the following proportions—viz., the Taranaki County Council
to bear half such cost, and the New Plymouth Borough Coun-
cil to bear half such cost respectively.

I do also further direct that any contribution hereby re-
quired to be made as aforesaid by the Taranaki County Council
shall be paid from time to time to the New Plymouth
Borough Council, in the proportion hereinbefore prescribed,
out of the funds of the said County Council, within a period
of thirty days after demand in writing made by or on behalf
of the New Plymouth Borough Council, and that such pay-
ments shall be made from time to time to the Town Clerk,
New Plymouth, for and on account of such County Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of Doralto Road, in the Taranaki Land
District, adjoining or passing through part Allotment 59,
Borough of New Plymouth, comprising a length of 16·87
chains, more or less. As the said portion of road is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42695,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon
coloured yellow.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-
General, this first day of October, one thousand
nine hundred and seventeen.

Tarahuа, Carrington, and Avenue Roads in the Taranaki
County Council, and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance
of the Same.

WHEREAS by section twelve of the Public Works
Amendment Act, 1909 (hereinafter termed “the said
Act”), as amended by section thirteen of the Public Works
Amendment Act, 1910, it is provided that where a road or
street lies along the boundary of two or more districts,
whether that road or street is wholly within one or is partly
within one and is partly within another of those districts,
or is within none of those districts, the Governor-General
may from time to time, by Warrant under his hand and
gazetted, direct which of the local authorities of those dis-
tricts shall have control of the road or street or of any part
thereof ; and may in like manner determine from time to
time whether any other of those local authorities shall con-
tribute to the cost of the construction or maintenance or
widening or reconstructing of that road or street, and, if so,
in what proportions :

And whereas portions of Frankley, Tukapo, Tarahua, Car-
rington, and Avenue Roads described in the Schedule hereto,
and hereinafter termed “the said roads,” form part of the
boundary between the Borough of New Plymouth and the
County of Taranaki :

And whereas it is expedient that provision should be made
under the said Act for the purposes and in the manner here-
inafter set forth :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New

rity vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers
and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do

the said roads shall be under the control of the Taranaki

determine the cost of construction or maintenance or widen-
ing or reconstructing the said roads shall be borne in the
following proportions—viz., the New Plymouth Borough
Council to bear half of such cost, and the Taranaki County
Council to bear half of such cost respectively.

And I do also further direct that any contribution hereby
required to be made as aforesaid by the New Plymouth Borough
Council shall be paid from time to time, in the proportion herein-
before prescribed, out of the funds of the said Council, within
a period of thirty days after demand in writing made by or
on behalf of the Taranaki County Council, and that such
payment shall be made from time to time to the Clerk of
the Taranaki County Council for and on account of the said
Borough Council.

ALL that portion of Frankley Road, in the Taranaki Land
District, situated on the boundary between the Taranaki
County and Borough of New Plymouth, adjoining or passing
through part Allotment 42, Borough of New Plymouth.
(Approximate length, 4·25 chains.)

Also all that portion of Tukapo Road, in the said land
district, situated on the boundary between the Taranaki
County and Borough of New Plymouth, adjoining or passing
through Lots 25, 24, and part Wallath Road, Borough of
New Plymouth. (Approximate length, 11·50 chains.)

Also all that portion of Tarahua Road, in the said land
district, situated on the boundary between the Taranaki
County and Borough of New Plymouth, adjoining or passing
through Section (part) 62, Borough of New Plymouth.
(Approximate length, 21·50 chains.)

Also all that portion of Carrington Road, in the said land
district, situated on the boundary between the Taranaki
County and Borough of New Plymouth, adjoining or passing
through part Sub. E of Section 61, Borough of New Ply-
mouth. (Approximate length, 7·85 chains.)
