Land taken for Tramway Purposes in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District, City of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the purposes of a tramway in Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District, City of Wellington:

And whereas the Wellington City Council has laid before the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Tramways Act, 1908, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in any-wise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said tramway, and shall vest in the Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington as from the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twentieth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 6·38 perches. Being part Lot 23 on D.P. 1109, being part of Original Section 7, Evans Bay R.D. (City of Wellington), Block VII, Port Nicholson Survey District.

In the Wellington Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42872, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Land in Block V, Takahue Survey District, taken for the Erection of Public Offices for the Transaction of Public Business relating to the Mangonui County.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for a certain public work—to wit, for the erection of public offices for the transaction of public business relating to the Mangonui County:

And whereas the Mangonui County Council has laid before the Governor-General a memorial, accompanied by a map in duplicate, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Counties Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the erection of public offices for the transaction of public business relating to the Mangonui County, and shall vest in the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Mangonui on and after the date hereinafter mentioned; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-seventh day of October, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 1 acre 1 rood. Portion of Church Mission Estate at Kaitaia, Block V, Takahue Survey District. (S.O. 19682.)

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42849, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured blue.

Appointment of Whananaki Domain Board revoked.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this first day of October, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council made on the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, a Domain Board was appointed to have control of the Whananaki Domain therein described:

And whereas it appears expedient to revoke the said Order in Council:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the aforesaid Order in Council of the twenty-sixth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.

Extending Prohibition of Alienation of certain Native Land other than Alienations in favour of the Crown.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this first day of October, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend for a further period of six months the Order in Council dated the sixteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and gazetted the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, prohibiting all alienations of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.
