Notice respecting Proposed Irrigation District, Oaonui, County of Egmont.

Wellington, 13th September, 1917.
IT is hereby notified that a petition has been presented to His Excellency the Governor-General, under the Land Drainage Act, 1908, praying that the area described in the Schedule hereto may be constituted a drainage district under Part II of the said Act, by name the Irrigation District of Oaonui. All persons affected are hereby called upon to lodge any written objections to or petitions against the constitution of the said drainage district which they desire to lodge, within one month from the first publication of this notice, such objections or petitions to be addressed to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF BOUNDARIES OF PROPOSED IRRIGATION DISTRICT OF OAONUI.
ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District bounded by a line commencing at the mouth of the Koteoteo Stream, thence along the seashore to the western boundary of Section 6, Block XV, Opunake Survey District, and along the western boundary of that section to its north-western corner; along the northern boundary of that section and of Section 5 to its north-eastern corner; thence along a right line to the intersection of the eastern side of South Road with the northern side of Hitona Road; along the northern side of that road to the southernmost corner of Section 21, Subdivision 3, Ngatitara Block; along the south-eastern and north-eastern boundaries of that subdivision to and across the Oaonui Stream; along the right bank of that stream to Subdivision 30, Ngatitara Block; thence along the south-western, north-western, and north-eastern boundaries of that subdivision to Arawhata Road, across that road, and along its south-eastern side to Subdivision 16, Ngatikahumate Block; along the north-eastern and south-eastern boundaries of that subdivision and the south-eastern boundaries of Subdivisions 14, 12, 10, 8, and part of the south-western boundary of the said Subdivision 8; along the south-eastern boundaries of Subdivisions 6 and 4 and the south-western boundary of Subdivision 5, Ngatikahumate Block, to and across Opua Road; along the south-eastern side of that road to and along the eastern side of South Road to and across the Koteoteo Stream, and along the left bank of that stream to the sea, the place of commencement.

Notifying Land in the Wellington Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Putorino Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from the 29th June, 1917.
SCHEDULE.
PUTORINO SETTLEMENT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 931 acres, more or less, being Sections Nos. 1s to 15s, both inclusive, and interior new roads, Putorino Settlement, situated in Block X, Ongo Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Section 2 on deposited plan 449, 7514·2 links, by the crossing of the Rata-Rewa Road and by that road, 242·7 links and 30 links, and by the top of the cliffs to the Rangitikei River; towards the south-east generally by the Rangitikei River; towards the south-west generally by part of Section 1 on deposited plan 449, 4924·6 links and 2581·6 links; and towards the north-west generally by Lot No. 3 on deposited plan 3658, 4672·2 links, by the Rata-Rewa Road, 152·6, 282·2, 483·9, 1063·6, and 375·8 links, and by its crossing 100·2 links, and by Lots 6 and 7 on deposited plan 3658, 4443·1 links: save and except that part of the Rata-Rewa Road which falls within the above-described boundary: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on a plan marked L. and S. 21/56, deposited at the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

WHAKATANE COUNTY COUNCIL.
Result of Poll.—Kutarere Wharf Loan.
PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the County of Whakatane taken on the 31st day of August, 1917, on the proposal of the Whakatane County Council to borrow the sum of £1,800 for construction of wharf and shed at Kutarere, also for cost of raising, payment of interest, and sinking fund on the said loan for the first year, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 76, and no votes were recorded against the proposal.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

HIS Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to approve of the award of a Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal to
No. 355, Regimental Sergeant-major FRANCIS JOHN ARMSTRONG, 5th (Wellington) Regiment,
he having a total service to the 28th May, 1917, entitling him thereto of twenty years three hundred and forty-one days.

Notice of the Taking of a Road in Block XVI, Patetere North Survey District.
NOTICE is hereby given, by direction of His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, under the authority of section 14 of the Land Act, 1908, that the road described in the Schedule hereto was taken through the land specified in the said Schedule, under the authority of the Governor-General of the said Dominion, by a Warrant dated the 30th day of May, 1917.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road taken: 7 acres 3 roods 26 perches.
Portion of southern portion of Section 37, Block XVI, Patetere North Survey District. (S.O. 19561.)
In the Auckland Land District; as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 42746, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Notice of Intention to take Land in Block V, Karioi Survey District, for Road Purposes.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work—to wit, the construction of a road in Block V, Karioi Survey District; and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Raglan, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works at Wellington.
