MEDICAL REGISTRATION.

I, GERALD PATRICK FITZGERALD, M.B., Bac. Surg., N.Z. Univ., now residing in Awapuni Camp, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the 24th September, 1917, next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Wellington.

WAITOMO COUNTY COUNCIL.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.—MANGAWHERO DRAINAGE LOAN OF £500.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Waitomo County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of five hundred pounds (£500), authorized to be raised by the Waitomo County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of opening present watercourse and clearing rubbish from a tributary of the Mangawhero Stream through Sections 13, 14, and 17, Block II, Aria Survey District, the said Waitomo County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of twopence halfpenny (2½d.) in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Mangawhero Drainage Area, Kaeaea, such Mangawhero Drainage Special-rating Area being bounded as follows:—
Commencing at the junction of the Paro Road and the Kaeaea Road at the north-west corner of Section 13, Block II, Aria Survey District; thence following the Kaeaea Road first in a south-easterly and then in a south-westerly direction to the northern boundary of Section 9, Block II, Aria Survey District; thence along the northern boundary in a westerly direction to the Paro Road; thence along the Paro Road in a northerly direction to the south-west corner of Section 18, Block II, Aria Survey District; thence along the eastern boundary of the said Section 18 in a northerly direction to the Paro Road again; thence along the Paro Road in a northerly direction to the starting-point.
And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and one-half years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A BRANCH RACE.

UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.

To the Warden of the Otago Mining District at Alexandra.
PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, His Majesty the King, hereby applies for a license for a branch race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof has been duly marked out for the purpose.
Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 3.30 p.m., 18/8/17.
Date and number of miner’s right: 17/8/17; 112664.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points: Commencing at a point “A” in Section 43 (Crown land), and proceeding in a north-easterly direction for 4½ chains, where it cuts the north-east boundary of Section 43; it then crosses the district road for the distance of half a chain and enters part of Section 39, owned by Mr. R. Symes, continuing through this property for three chains, avoiding all buildings, and being piped in watertight pipes for the whole of its length through the said Symes’s property, pipes to be covered at least 15 inches under the surface of the ground; then it enters Mrs. B. Rahill’s part of Section 39, and continues in a north-easterly direction through the whole length of Section 39 for 18½ chains, terminating at a point B on the north-east boundary of Section 39; all situated in Block I, Cairnhill Survey District, and shown by the blue line on the plan.
Length and intended course of race: 26½ chains.
Point of intake: One.
Estimated time and cost of construction: 3 months; £140.
Mean depth and breadth: 2 ft. by 3 ft.
Number of heads to be carried:
Purpose for which water is to be carried: Irrigation, domestic, and industrial.
Proposed term of license: 42 years.

Association, Broadway, Stratford, on Monday, the 10th day of September, 1917, at 3.30 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of having an account laid before them showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted, and of hearing any explanation that may be given by the Liquidator, and also for the purpose of passing an extraordinary resolution disposing of the books, accounts, and documents of the company and Liquidator.
