Certain Lands reclaimed from the Sea included in City of Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS a petition, publicly notified, has been presented to me, under section one hundred and nineteen of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, by the Council of the City of Auckland, praying me to alter the boundaries of the City of Auckland so as to include therein the pieces of land described in the Schedule hereto, being lands reclaimed from the sea adjacent to the said city:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in me by the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the said city are hereby altered so as to include within the limits of the said city the lands described in the said Schedule hereto, being lands reclaimed from the sea adjacent to the said city.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area reclaimed from the waters of Waitemata Harbour bounded by a line commencing at the easternmost point of Quay Street, in the City of Auckland, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 22nd March, 1917, page 1032, thence bearing 108° 8′ distance 592·69 links, bearing 107° 6′ distance 200·03 links, bearing 104° 29′ 30″ distance 300·61 links, bearing 101° 23′ distance 302·09 links, bearing 98° 19′ distance 304·46 links, bearing 95° 19′ distance 307·67 links, bearing 92° 26′ distance 175 links, to the present boundary of the City of Auckland, and thence along that boundary to the northern side of Quay Street, the place of commencement.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor-General and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this first day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Land reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said lands should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereunder shall be scenic reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 302 acres, more or less, being Section 36, Block I, Wakamarina Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by a reserve for the growth and preservation of timber, 5858·5 and 3096·7 links; towards the east generally by Sections 45, 44, and 42 in the said Block I, 1671·3, 4749·5, and 1387·9 links; towards the south generally by Section 49 in the said Block I, 2934·9 links, and by Section 37 (cemetery reserve), 400 links; and towards the south-west generally by aforesaid cemetery reserve, 500 links, and by a public road one chain wide, 8192·4 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 4/207, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

All that area in the Marlborough Land District, containing by admeasurement 67 acres 1 rood 15 perches, more or less, being part of Section 7, Picton Suburban, in Block XII, Linkwater Survey District. Bounded by a line commencing at
