Boundaries of Borough of Marton altered.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-third day of July, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS a petition has been presented to the Governor-General, under section fourteen of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, praying the Governor-General to alter the boundaries of the Borough of Marton by excluding therefrom the area described in the Schedule hereto, and including the said area in the County of Rangitikei: And whereas a notice showing the proposed alteration in boundaries of the said borough has been gazetted and publicly notified, and objections in writing against such alteration were lodged:
And whereas a Commission appointed under the said section held an inquiry, and recommended that the said area should be so excluded from the said borough and included in the said county:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Amendment Act, 1913, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that, as on and from the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, the area described in the Schedule hereto shall be excluded from the Borough of Marton and shall be included in the County of Rangitikei.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded towards the west by the present boundary of the Borough of Marton, being the eastern side of the road forming the western boundary of Original Sections 26 and 19, from Henderson’s Road to the north-western corner of the said Section 19; thence towards the north by the northern boundary of the western subdivision of that section to a public road; thence towards the east by that road to and across Bonny Glen Road, and by that road to the north-eastern corner of the north-western subdivision of Original Section 26, by the eastern boundary of that subdivision and of the south-western subdivision of the said Section 26 to Henderson’s Road; and towards the south by the northern side of that road to the place of commencement.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities from the State Advances Department.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-third day of July, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf) whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special Act or under any other authority whatever, without the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent of the Governor-General in Council to enable the several local authorities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the sums set opposite the names of the said local authorities respectively, for the several purposes specified in the said Schedule, from the State Advances Office:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent of the Governor-General in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the borrowing from the State Advances Department of the loans hereinafter mentioned by the several local authorities set out in the Schedule hereto, for the purposes specified in the said Schedule; and it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor-General in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.

SCHEDULE.
ELTHAM County Council, £1,500: For constructing a ferro-concrete bridge over the Mangawheroiti Stream, and for completing the formation of and for metalling the Aurora Road.
Franklin County Council, £450: For forming and metalling Park Road (Papakura), in the Drury Riding.
Piako County Council, £1,000: For metalling a road within the Norfolk Downs Special-rating Area.

Declaring Portions of Road in Block XIII, Waitemata Survey District, to be a Government Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-third day of July, 1917.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portions of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council become a Government road.
