trustees incorporated pursuant to section twelve of the said
Act, to be applied by such last-mentioned society or trustees
for the purposes for which such last-mentioned society or
trustees were incorporated, notwithstanding that such purposes may not be identical with the purposes for which the
fund to be transferred was established; provided that consent
shall not be given to any application under this section
unless the Governor-General in Council is satisfied that the
fund to be transferred can be administered by the incorporated society or trustees for substantially the same purposes
as those for which the fund was established : And whereas
an application has been made by the trustees having control
of the Rai Valley Wounded Soldiers Fund to transfer the
said fund held by such trustees, entitled “The Rai Valley
Wounded Soldiers Fund,” to the Marlborough Patriotic
Society (Incorporated): And whereas the Governor-General
in Council is satisfied that such fund can be administered by
the Marlborough Patriotic Society (Incorporated) for substantially the same purposes as those for which that fund
was established: And whereas it is considered desirable to
consent to such transfer:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of
the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the
transfer of the fund held by the said trustees, entitled “The
Rai Valley Wounded Soldiers Fund,” to the Marlborough
Patriotic Society (Incorporated).

Regulations as to the Registration of Apiaries.—Notice No. 1890.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this ninth day
of July, 1917.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it is provided by section nine of the Apiaries
Amendment Act, 1913 (hereinafter termed “the said
Act”), that the Governor-General may from time to time, by
Order in Council gazetted, make regulations, inter alia, for the
free registration of apiaries, and the terms and conditions of
such registration : And whereas it is expedient to make
regulations for such purpose accordingly :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
conferred on him as aforesaid, and of all other powers enabling
him in this behalf; His Excellency the Governor-General of
the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby make the following regulations for the purposes
aforesaid; and doth hereby declare that the said regulations
shall come into force on the date of the publication thereof in
the New Zealand Gazette.
REGULATIONS.
- For the purposes of these regulations—
“Director” means the Director of the Horticulture Division of the Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce:
“Apiary” means any place where bees are kept:
“Beekeeper” means any person who keeps bees or allows the same to be kept on any land occupied by him, or who has in his possession or allows to be kept on any land occupied by him any appliances that have been used in connection with apiculture. - Every beekeeper shall, on or before the 15th day of August, 1917, and in the month of June in the year 1920 and in every third year thereafter, make application to the Director in or to the effect of the form in the Schedule hereto, for the registration of his apiary; provided that in the event of—
(a.) any apiary being established, or
(b.) any apiary being transferred from one beekeeper to another,
subsequent to the gazetting of these regulations, application for the registration of such apiary must be made as directed within twenty-one days after such establishment or transfer has been effected. - Forms of application for registration of an apiary shall be obtainable, free of charge, from the Director, or from any District Agent or Apiary Instructor of the Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce.

Notifying Land in Taranaki Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
LIVERPOOL, Governor-General.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Wednesday, the twenty-second day of August, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen, as the time at which the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the price at which the said land shall be sold as that mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

upset price, £1,700 (including buildings).
Situated on the corner of Gill and Kawau Streets, and known as the old drill-hall site. From its proximity to the railway-station and yards and main thoroughfares of the borough it is valuable as a site for warehouse, store, or factory.

to be a trustee, in the place of John Abrams Colmer, Vincent Seymour Tyrell, and William Ralston Wright, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Rahotu Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Thomas Pole Hughson, James Benjamin Groom, Walter Clement Guy Green, Clement Penwarden, and Eli Hezekiah Taylor, previously appointed.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor-General, this ninth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.
