Military Service Act, 1916.—Classification of Second Division of the Reserve.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this fourth day of July, 1917.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR-GENERAL IN COUNCIL.

His Excellency the Governor-General of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of that Dominion, and in pursuance of the authority conferred upon him by section four of the Military Service Act, 1916, doth hereby divide the Second Division of the Expeditionary Force Reserve into classes in accordance with the provisions of the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE

  1. The Second Division of the Expeditionary Force Reserve shall consist of six classes, distinguished and constituted as follows.

  2. Class A shall comprise all reservists of the Second Division who for the time being have no children.

  3. Class B shall comprise all reservists of the Second Division who for the time being have one child.

  4. Class C shall comprise all reservists of the Second Division who for the time being have two children.

  5. Class D shall comprise all reservists of the Second Division who for the time being have three children.

  6. Class E shall comprise all reservists of the Second Division who for the time being have four children.

  7. Class F shall comprise all reservists of the Second Division who for the time being have more than four children.

  8. In this Schedule the term “child” is used irrespectively of age.

  9. In this Schedule the term “child” includes a child legally adopted by the reservist before the 1st day of May, 1915, but includes no other adopted children.

  10. In this Schedule the term “child” includes a child of the wife of a reservist if the reservist married the mother of that child before the 1st day of May, 1915, but includes no other step-children.

  11. In this Schedule the term “child” includes the illegitimate child of a reservist if the reservist has married the mother of that child before the 1st day of May, 1915, but includes no other illegitimate children.
