AT an extraordinary general meeting of the members of the above-named company duly convened and held at the registered office of the company, No. 20 Bond Street, Dunedin, on the 14th day of October, 1916, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed:—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot by reason of its liabilities continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily.”

And at the same meeting JAMES BROWN, of Dunedin, Accountant, was appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.

NOTICE is hereby given that the creditors of the above-named company are required, on or before the first day of March, 1917, to send their names and addresses and the particulars of their debts or claims, and the names and addresses of their solicitors, if any, to JAMES BROWN, of 8 Liverpool Street, Dunedin, the Liquidator of the said company; and, if so required by notice in writing from the said Liquidator, are by their solicitors to come in and prove their said debts or claims at such time and place as shall be specified in such notice, or in default thereof they will be excluded from the benefit of any distribution made before such debts are proved.

FEILDING BOROUGH COUNCIL.

SPECIAL LOAN OF £7,000.—RESOLUTION MAKING AND LEVYING A SPECIAL RATE OF 77/256THS OF A PENNY IN THE POUND.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and of all other powers (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Feilding Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £7,000, authorized to be raised by the Feilding Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of installing additional plant at the electric-lighting station and for the payment of spare parts already purchased out of overdraft, the said Feilding Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of seventy-seven two-hundred-and-fifty-sixths (77/256ths) of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Feilding; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of April in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and a correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Feilding Borough Council at the meeting above mentioned.

The common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Feilding was hereto affixed at the office of and pursuant to a resolution of the Feilding Borough Council, in the presence of—

PALMERSTON NORTH ABATTOIR LOAN (1917) OF £12,500.

RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Palmerston North Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and sinking fund and other charges on a loan of £12,500, authorized to be raised by the Palmerston North Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of taking over and purchasing from the Manawatu Meat and Cold Storage Company (Limited) the abattoir previously established by

the said company under power delegated to it by the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Palmerston North, the said Palmerston North Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of five thirty-sixths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the unimproved value) of all the rateable property of the Borough of Palmerston North, comprising the whole of the Borough of Palmerston North; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of June in each and every year during the currency of the said loan, being a period of thirty-six years—that is to say, until the 1st day of February, 1953—or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Palmerston North Borough Council held on the 16th day of January, 1917.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between JOHN NOLAN and HENRY WEBB, carrying on business as Blacksmiths and Wheelwrights at Piopio, under the style or firm of “Nolan & Webb,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the eighteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

All debts due to and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by HENRY WEBB, who will continue to carry on the said business under his own name.

NOTICE is hereby given that a general meeting of the members of the Patents Purchasing Company (Limited) will be held in the registered office of the company, No. 6 Chancery Lane, Christchurch, at 4.30 p.m. on Thursday, the eighth day of February, 1917, to receive the Liquidator’s statement of accounts, &c.

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the Hallett Land Company (Limited) held at Auckland on the 10th day of January, 1917, the following special resolution passed at an extraordinary general meeting of the company held on the 20th day of December, 1916, was duly confirmed, namely:—

“That the Hallett Land Company (Limited) be wound up voluntarily.”

And, further, that Messrs. WILFRED BRUNO COLBECK and JOHN WORSTENHOLM SHEARER were appointed Liquidators for the purpose of such winding-up.
