Union of Boroughs of Hamilton and Frankton.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the respective Councils of the Boroughs of Hamilton and Frankton, by petitions under the respective common seals of the Corporations of such boroughs, as provided by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, have prayed the Governor that such boroughs (forming one continuous area) be constituted one united borough :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance of the powers vested in me by the said Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, do hereby proclaim that the said Boroughs of Hamilton and Frankton are hereby constituted one united borough, by the name of the Borough of Hamilton, and also that the boundaries of the said borough so constituted and named shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto :
And I do also proclaim and declare that the said borough shall be an undivided borough, and that the number of Councillors to be elected to the Council thereof shall be twelve, exclusive of the Mayor :
And I do hereby appoint Edwin John Davey (the Town Clerk to the existing Borough of Hamilton) to be the Town Clerk and Returning Officer temporarily of the said united borough :
And I do also proclaim and declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF THE BOROUGH OF HAMILTON.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District bounded by a line along the left bank of the Waikato River from the Waitawhiriwhiri Stream to a point in line with the northern side of Boundary Road; thence across the Waikato River and along the northern side of Boundary Road to and across River Road, 566·7 links; thence along the north-eastern side of River Road, thence along the eastern and south-eastern boundaries of Allotment No. 3 on plan No. 4721, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, and along the south-eastern boundary of Allotment No. 12 on the aforesaid plan to Casey’s Avenue; thence along a right line across Casey’s Avenue to the south-western corner of Allotment No. 20 on plan No. 4721 aforesaid; thence along the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned allotment and Allotment No. 12 on plan No. 3014, deposited in the office of the District Land Registrar at Auckland, to Heaphy Road; thence across Heaphy Road and along the south-eastern boundaries of Allotments Nos. 24 and 33 on plan No. 3014 aforesaid and the south-eastern boundary of the last-mentioned allotment produced to the middle of Peach Grove Road; thence along the middle of that road to a point in line with the south-eastern boundary of Section No. 223A, Parish of Kirikiriroa; thence to and along the south-eastern boundary of that section and along its south-western boundary, the abutment of a road, and along the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 224, 225, 229, 230, 231, across a road, the south-western boundary of Section No. 251, the abutment of a road, and the south-western boundary of Section No. 254, Parish of Kirikiriroa, to the Waikato River; thence along the right bank of that river to a point in line with the north boundary of Section No. 24, Parish of Te Rapa; thence across the Waikato River and along the northern boundary of the said Section No. 24 to Ohapu Road; thence along the eastern side of that road to a point in line with the northern boundary of Section No. 26, Parish of Te Rapa; thence across the Ohapu Road and along the northern boundary of Section No. 26 aforesaid for a distance of 700 links; thence along a line at right angles to the last-mentioned boundary to Lake Hamilton; thence along the eastern and northern shores of Lake Hamilton to the northern boundary of Section No. 363; thence along the northern boundary of that section to the lake drain at its north-western corner; thence by the lake drain to and across the Main Trunk Railway line; thence by the railway-line to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Section No. 371, Block I, Hamilton Survey District; thence towards the south-west by a right line to the southernmost corner of the last-mentioned section; thence by the south-western boundary of that section and that boundary produced to the western side of the Frankton-Tuhikarama Road; thence towards the west generally by the western side of the said road to its junction with the Frankton-Whatawhata Road; thence by the northern side of the last-mentioned road to the Waitawhiriwhiri Stream, including Dinsdale’s Bridge; thence by the said Waitawhiriwhiri Stream to the Waikato River, the place of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this twentieth day of January, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and seventeen.

Land proclaimed as a Road, and Road closed, in Block IX, Opihi Survey District, Canterbury Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section eleven of the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents of the lessee of the land described in the First Schedule hereto, and of the Mackenzie County Council, being the local authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim as a road the land described in the said Schedule; and also do hereby, with the like consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required.
