RESOLUTION.
THE following regulations were laid before the members
of the Westport Trotting Club at a meeting held on
the 24th day of May, 1917, at 7.30 p.m., with a recommenda-
tion by the Chairman of the Club, Mr. F. W. Hagedorn, jun.,
that the same be passed at once with a view to their approval
by His Excellency the Governor, in pursuance of the Gaming
Act, 1908, section 33.
Mr. F. W. Hagedorn, jun., the Chairman of the Club and
of the meeting, moved, “That it be and hereby resolved
that such regulations be adopted, and that the Chairman
be authorized to sign the same in authentication thereof.”
The motion was seconded by Mr. John Colligan, and
carried.
The following are the regulations above referred to :—
WESTPORT TROTTING CLUB.
REGULATIONS.
(Under the Gaming Act, 1908.)
In pursuance and exercise of the powers in that behalf con-
tained in section 33 of the Gaming Act, 1908, and of all
other powers and authorities it enabling in that behalf, the
Westport Trotting Club, a trotting club within the meaning
of the said Act, and hereinafter referred to as “the said
club,” doth hereby make the following regulations controlling
the admission of persons to that part of the Racecourse
Reserve situate at Mill Street, Westport, and set apart for
racing purposes, and known as the Westport Trotting Course,
while the same is used or occupied by the said club for race
meetings.

In these regulations the words “bookmaker,” “trotting
clubs,” and “race meetings” shall have the meanings ascribed
to them by section 2 of the Gaming Act, 1908. -
The following persons shall be and are hereby excluded
from the said racecourse while the same is used or occupied
by the said club for race meetings, namely :—
(a.) Bookmakers.
(b.) All persons under disqualification inflicted by any
trotting club in the Dominion of New Zealand, the
Commonwealth of Australia, or elsewhere, if affiliated
to the New Zealand Trotting Association.
(c.) Common prostitutes, and persons who habitually con-
sort with thieves or with persons who have no
lawful visible means of support.
The foregoing regulations of the Westport Trotting Club
were made and adopted by the said club at its meeting on
the 24th day of May, 1917, and signed by—

The foregoing regulations made by the Westport Trotting
Club are hereby approved this 11th day of June, 1917.

SPRING CREEK ROAD BOARD.
EXTRACT FROM MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS AT A MEETING
HELD ON THE 19TH DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1916, AT 8 P.M.
Special Order authorizing Loan of £1,000.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by
the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and amendments,
and by virtue of a Warrant dated the 18th day of May, 1914,
issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor in
terms of section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908, the
Spring Creek Road Board hereby resolves as follows :—

That, for the purpose of providing further payments
towards the Board’s share of the cost of constructing a
bridge over the Opawa River at the northern end of Grove
Road, Blenheim, and the cost of approaches and protective
words in connection with such bridge, the said Board hereby
authorizes the raising of a special loan of one thousand
pounds (£1,000) for a term of thirty-six and a half years. -
That a sinking fund of one per cent. per annum is hereby
created for the payment of this loan, and the Public Trustee
is hereby appointed Commissioner in respect of said sinking
fund. -
That, for the purpose of providing interest, sinking fund,
and other charges on such loan, the said Board hereby makes
and levies a special rate of two forty-thirds of a penny in
the pound on the capital value of all rateable property in
the Spring Creek Road Board District ; and that such special
rate to be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of
the loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of
November and May in each year during the currency of the
loan. -
The cost of raising the loan, and the first year’s interest
and sinking fund, and a sum not exceeding fifty pounds for
the preliminary expenses, be paid out of the loan.
The common seal of the Inhabitants of the Spring Creek
Road District was affixed hereto at the office of and pursuant
to a resolution of the Spring Creek Road Board, in the presence
of—

I, the undersigned, do hereby certify that the foregoing

EXCERPT FROM MINUTES OF MEETING OF SHAREHOLDERS
HELD IN WAIKATO DINING-ROOMS, HUNTLY, ON 28TH MAY,
1917.
THAT whereas it has been proved to the satisfaction of
the company that by reason of its liabilities the com-
pany cannot continue its business, and that it is advisable
to wind up same, this meeting of shareholders does therefore
resolve that the company go into voluntary liquidation.
It was also resolved that Mr. P. C. GOULD, Ngaruawahia,
be appointed Liquidator.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE A PUMICE AND GRAVEL
RESERVE.—PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Tauranga County Council
proposes to take the piece of land mentioned in the
Schedule hereto, under the provisions of the above-mentioned
Act, for the purposes of a pumice and gravel reserve ; and
also that a plan showing the land required to be taken is
deposited at the office of the Tauranga County Council,
Spring Street, Tauranga, and is open for public inspection
during office hours ; and also that all persons affected by
the taking of the said land shall, if they have any well-
grounded objection to the taking of the said land, set forth
the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days
from the 5th day of June, 1917, being the date of the first
publication of this notice, to the office of the Tauranga
County Council addressed to the undersigned.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of land to be taken : 1 acre 3 roods
38 perches.
Being portion of Rangiuru No. 1A, Block III.
Situated in the Survey District of Maketu.
