SCHEDULE.
PART I.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing 2,560 acres, more or less, around and including the hot springs on the Hanmer Plain, near Jollie’s Pass, forming a parallelogram at the base of the hills bounding the plain on the north. Reserved for public purposes in Nelson Provincial Gazette No. 2, of the 11th February, 1860, page 6.

PART II.

Description of Portion of Reserve the Purpose of which is hereby changed.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 32 perches, more or less, and being Section 5, Block II, Hanmer Springs Township, bounded as follows: On the north-east by Section 4, Block II, of the said township, 300 links; on the south-east by Sections 8 and 14 of the said block, 150 links; on the south-west by Section 6 of the said block, 300 links; and on the north-west by Amuri Road, 150 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. VI/1 (86), deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

PART III.

Purpose to which Portion of Reserve is hereby changed.

Site for a fire-brigade station.

Opening National Endowment Land in Canterbury Land District for Selection.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the second day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—AMURI COUNTY.—CULVERDEN SURVEY DISTRICT.

Second-class Land (National Endowment).

SECTIONS 2 to 7, Blocks XIII and XIV: Area, 1,856 acres; capital value, £2,120; half-yearly rent, £42 8s.

Weighted with £1,024 3s. 9d., valuation for improvements consisting of dwellinghouse, wool-shed, and stables, £536; fencing, £357 3s. 9d.; planting and cultivation, £131.

Situated on the north bank of the Hurunui River, below the traffic-bridge near Hurunui, and about six miles south-eastwards from Balmoral Railway-station. There are between 300 and 400 acres of swampy land, and about 750 acres of manuka scrub; the balance is open, dry, and stony. The swamp land, if drained, and parts of the open land could be cultivated, but the greater portion of the area is only adapted for pastoral purposes. The portion below the terrace is well watered.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

to be a Trustee, in the place of James McGarry, deceased, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Waikouaiti Public Cemetery, in conjunction with William McDougall, George Maxwell, William Hallum, Magnus Jamieson, George Gilmore Diack, and George Williamson, previously appointed.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, being Section 4, Block IX, Otanake Survey District, and containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 20 perches, more or less. Bounded towards the north-west generally by Kinohaku East No. 3D 1A Block and Kinohaku East No. 2 Block, Section 16C, 341·6 links and 331·5 links respectively; towards the east generally by a public road, 297·3 links, 581·4 links, 259·1 links, 206·7 links, and 14·1 links; towards the south by Section 5, Block IX, Otanake Survey District, 631·8 links; and towards the west by Kinohaku East No. 3D 1A Block aforesaid, 1124·9 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2/304, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland Plan 12615.)
