Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of August, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by that section, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby prohibit, for the period of one year from the date of this Order in Council, all alienations of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.

Revocation of an Order in Council prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Lands.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of August, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that any Order in Council made under that section may at any time be varied or revoked:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority hereinbefore mentioned, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the Order in Council made the second day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette the eleventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, affecting the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto.

Declaring Portion of the Whakatomotomo Road, in the Featherston County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of August, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the Whakatomotomo Road, in the Wellington Land District, Featherston County, commencing at its junction with Turanganui Road, and running in an easterly and south-easterly direction through Sections 66 and 6, and partly through Section 54, Block V, Haurangi Survey District, and terminating at a point marked “2 Miles” in the Whakatomotomo Native Reserve, Block X, Haurangi Survey District; being a distance of 160 chains, more or less. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40771, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

Extending Time for closing Polls, Ellerslie Town District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first day of August, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, as amended by the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act, 1913, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby extend the hour at which all polls to be held and taken in the Ellerslie Town District shall close to seven o’clock in the afternoon of the day appointed.

Fixing Minimum Pilotage Charge for Picton.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-eighth day of August, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, by Order in Council dated the twenty-second day of March, one thousand nine hundred and nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighth day of the following month, the pilotage rates were prescribed for the Harbour of Picton: And whereas it is advisable to prescribe a minimum rate in cases where the Harbourmaster is required to go down the Sound as far as Long Island to board a vessel there:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power conferred upon him by the Harbours Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following by-law in respect of the Harbour of Picton; and doth order that such by-law shall come into force on the date hereof.

BY-LAW.

THE pilotage rates fixed and authorized to be levied in the Harbour of Picton by the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of the 22nd day of March, 1909, is hereby amended by adding the following words at the end of the first clause of the Schedule to that by-law, viz.:

“ When the pilot boards an inward-bound vessel off Long Island, or farther down, for the purpose of piloting her, or when he leaves an outward-bound vessel off that island or farther down after piloting her, the minimum charge for pilotage shall be five pounds (£5).”
