EVIDENCE having been furnished of the loss of Memorandum of Lease No. 4475, from ARTHUR ROSCOE VERNON MORTEN, of Christchurch, Gentleman, to THOMAS JOWSEY and ARTHUR WILLIAM LANE, both of Christchurch, Hotelkeepers, now vested in ESTHER MANDEL, wife of Joseph Mandel, of Wellington, Merchant, the said JOSEPH MANDEL, THE TIMARU BREWERY, and HOLE, GRIERSON, AND DAVIS (LIMITED), affecting Lots 12 and 13, Basement Plan, Lots 12 and 13, Ground-floor Plan, Lot 13 of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Floor Plans, shown on Deposit Plan 2280, and being part of the land in certificate of title, Vol. 29, folio 129, and application having been made to me for the issue of a provisional memorandum of lease in lieu of the original memorandum of lease, which has been lost, I hereby give notice that it is my intention to issue such provisional memorandum of lease at the expiration of fourteen days from the date of the Gazette containing this notice.

APPLICATION FOR ALTERATION OF COURSE OF WATER-RACE.

UNDER THE MINING ACT, 1908.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned, Joshua Wright, of Earnscleugh, Fruit-grower, hereby applies for permission to alter the course of the water-race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course of which has been duly marked out for the purpose.

WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waimea County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of five hundred pounds sterling (£500), authorized to be raised by the Waimea County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for metalling the Moutere Inlet Road, the said Waimea County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of (5/16ths) five-sixteenths of one penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the Special-rating Area No. 6, Moutere Inlet, comprising all that land in the following boundaries:—

Starting on the sea-beach at a point in line with the north-west boundary of Section 206, Block VIII, Motueka S.D.; thence across a public road to the northern corner of the said Section 206, thence along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the said Section 206 to the north-west boundary of Section 207, thence in a south-westerly direction to the westernmost point of the said Section 207, thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-west boundaries of Sections 207 and 208, Block VIII, Motueka S.D., to the south corner of Section 208; thence in a north-easterly direction along the south-eastern boundary of Section 208 to the west corner of Section 209, thence in a south-easterly direction along the south-west boundaries of Sections 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, and 214 to the west corner of Section 103, all of Block VIII, Motueka S.D.; thence in a south-westerly direction along the north-west boundary of Lot 1, Section 98A,
