1908, doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall
become vested in the Manunui Town Board, in trust, as a
reserve for the deposit of refuse.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by
admeasurement 1 acre 0 roods 29 perches, more or less, being
Section 53, Manunui Village Settlement. Bounded towards
the north-east by a public road, 589·9 links; towards the
south by Waikura Terrace, 548·3 links; and towards the
north-west by Section 52, Manunui Village Settlement, 455·1
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.

Wanganui-Waitotara Patriotic Association incorporated under
the War Funds Act, 1915.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first
day of August, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twelve of the War Funds Act,
1915 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”),
it is provided that the Governor may, by Order in Council
gazetted, incorporate a society possessing a war fund, or the
trustees of such fund: And whereas application, in writing
addressed to the Minister, has been made by the Wanganui-
Waitotara Patriotic Association (being an association pos-
sessing a war fund), praying for the incorporation of that
association:

And whereas it is considered desirable to grant such appli-
cation:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and
acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare
that the association known as the Wanganui-Waitotara
Patriotic Association is hereby incorporated for the purposes
of the said Act as from the publication hereof in the New
Zealand Gazette, and shall be known as the Wanganui-
Waitotara Patriotic Association.

Withdrawing Land from the Operation of the Kauri-gum
Industry Act, 1908.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-first
day of August, 1916.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty-six of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that the
Governor may, by Order in Council gazetted, on the
recommendation of the Land Board, declare that any land
comprised in a kauri-gum reserve shall, from a date to be
specified in the Order, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum
Industry Act, 1908, and on and after the date so specified
the land to which the Order relates shall become subject to
the provisions of the Land Act, 1908:

And whereas the Land Board of the Auckland Land
District has duly passed a resolution recommending that
the portion of the Pukewhau Kauri-gum Reserve described
in the Schedule hereto be excepted from the operations of
the Kauri-gum Industry Act, 1908, and it is expedient to
give effect to such recommendation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
conferred upon me by section forty-six of the Land Laws
Amendment Act, 1913, and acting by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
do hereby order and declare that the portion of Pukewhau
Kauri-gum Reserve described in the Schedule hereto shall,
from the twenty-fourth day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen, cease to be subject to the Kauri-gum
Industry Act, 1908,

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 203 acres 0 roods 26 perches, more or less,
being Section 3, Block XI, Rangaunu Survey District, part
of the Pukewhau Kauri-gum Reserve, set apart by Order in
Council dated 22nd September, 1902, and published in Gazette
of 25th September, 1902, page 2143. Bounded towards the
north and east by part of the aforesaid Pukewhau Kauri-
gum Reserve, 3771 and 6487·4 links respectively; towards
the south generally by a public road, 690, 564·1, 413·4, 692·4,
549·5, 578·6, and 141·6 links; towards the west generally by
Old Land Claim 31, 1256·6, 2489·1, 782·6, and 1920 links:
be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is
delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 9/347, deposited in
the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Welling-
ton, and thereon bordered red. (Auckland Plan No. 18994.)

Approving the Mayor of Auckland’s Serbian Relief Fund
under the War Contributions Validation Act, 1914
(No. 2).

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

WHEREAS by section two of the War Contributions
Validation Act, 1914 (No. 2), (hereinafter referred to
as “the said Act”) it is enacted as follows:—

Contributions, whether in money or kind, may be made by
any local authority or body of persons, whether corporate or
unincorporate, other than private trustees under a settle-
ment or will—

(a.) For the relief of distress occasioned by the war in
which His Majesty is at present engaged, whether
such distress exists in New Zealand or elsewhere in
the British Dominions, or in any country allied to
His Majesty;

(b.) For any patriotic objects approved for the purposes of
this Act by the Governor:

Provided that every such contribution is paid either—

(1.) Into a public fund established by the Government, or
by any local authority, for the purposes of such
relief of distress, or patriotic objects; or

(2.) Into a fund established by persons other than the
Government or a local authority, where such fund
and the conditions of control and expenditure
thereof are approved for the purposes of this Act
by the Governor:

And whereas certain persons in the Provincial District of
Auckland have formed themselves into a committee known
as the Mayor of Auckland’s Serbian Relief Fund, for the
following purposes, namely:—

To provide relief for the distress caused to Serbian sub-
jects in Europe by the war, and for that purpose to
take all steps necessary to collect moneys and goods
to be forwarded to the Serbian Ambassador in London
for distribution:

And whereas the said committee has established a fund
for the promotion of the objects hereinbefore expressed, and
has submitted the said fund and the conditions of control
and the expenditure thereof for approval, as required by the
hereinbefore-quoted provisions of the said Act:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby approve for the purposes of the said Act—

(1.) The fund hereinbefore referred to, established by the
Mayor of Auckland’s Serbian Relief Fund; and

(2.) The conditions of control and expenditure of the said
fund, as set out in the rules adopted by the said
committee on the twelfth day of April, one thou-
sand nine hundred and sixteen.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twenty-first day of August, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

Opening Land in Otago Land District for Sale or Selection.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of
the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report of
the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section one
hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for sale or selection on Tuesday, the seventh day of
November, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen; and
also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renew-
