TENDERS FOR INLAND MAIL-SERVICES

FOR

1917 AND 1918.

Tenders for Inland Mail-services for 1917 and 1918.

General Post Office,
Wellington, 3rd August, 1916.

SEALED tenders will be received at the several Chief Post-offices in the Dominion until Thursday, the 14th September, 1916, for the conveyance of mails between the undermentioned places, for a period of two years, from the 1st January, 1917.

POSTAL DISTRICT OF AUCKLAND.

  1. Aratapu Post-office and steamer, as required.
  2. Aratapu and Mititai, as required.
  3. Aria, Rira, and Kaeaea, weekly.
  4. Auckland, Bayswater, and Takapuna, daily to and from Bayswater, twice daily to Takapuna, thrice daily from Takapuna.
  5. Auckland Chief Post-office, Railway-station, and Wharves (by horse vehicles or motor vehicles), as required.
  6. Auckland: Clearing receivers within a radius of four miles and a half of Chief Post-office (divided into four areas), (by horse vehicles or motor vehicles), thrice daily.
  7. Auckland: Delivery of letter-carriers’ extra bags, as required; also delivery of parcels in city and suburbs (by horse vehicles or motor vehicles), twice daily in city, daily in suburbs. (NOTE.—Parcels are to be delivered over area served by Auckland letter-carriers.)
  8. Auckland landing service (landing and shipping mails to and from vessels in stream), as required. (Mails to be landed from Vancouver mail-steamers by ferry-boat when necessary; steamer or launch to be used and tonnage of boat quoted in tender.)

8A. Aukopae Post-office and junction main Taumarunui Road, twice weekly.
9. Aukopae, Roto, and Tokirima, twice weekly. (Alternative to No. 136A.)
10. Awanui Landing, Awanui, and Kaitaia, thrice weekly.
11. Awhitu Wharf, Awhitu, and Awhitu Central, four times weekly.
12. Cabbage Bay Post-office and Wharf, as required.
12A. Cabbage Bay, Moehau, and Poihakene, weekly.
13. Cambridge, Fencourt, Goodwood, Victoria and Thornton Roads (rural delivery), daily.
14. Cambridge, Hautapu, and Bruntwood (rural delivery), daily.
15. Cambridge, Karapiro, and Taotaoroa (rural delivery, and delivery of correspondence to settlers’ boxes erected at both places), daily.
16. Cambridge, Monovale, Rotoorangi, and along Pukekura, Redoubt, Patrol, and Flat Park Roads, and Cambridge, Pukerimu, and Kaipaki (rural delivery), daily. (Alternative to No. 16A.)
16A.++ Cambridge Monovale, Rotoorangi, and along Pukekura, Redoubt, Patrol, and Flat Park Roads, and Cambridge, Pukerimu, and Kaipaki (rural delivery, by four-wheeled motor vehicle; see special conditions), daily. (Alternative to No. 16.)
17. Cambridge and Whitehall (correspondence to be delivered into settlers’ boxes), (rural delivery, by horse vehicle or motor vehicle), twice weekly.
18. Clevedon, Ness Valley, and Moumoukai, twice weekly.
19. Clevedon, Ness Valley Road, Otawa Settlement Road, Maraetai Road, and West Road (rural delivery), thrice weekly to Ness Valley and Otawa Roads; and thrice weekly in summer, twice weekly in winter, along Maraetai and West Roads.
