October, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight, appointing the Hobson County Council to have the control and management of the Mount Wesley Public Cemetery, and do hereby appoint the local authority specified in Part I of the Schedule hereto to have the control and management of the public cemetery specified in Part II of the said Schedule.

Part II.—Name of Public Cemetery and Description of Land.
MOUNT WESLEY.
ALL those pieces of land in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 3 roods 24 perches, being Lots 1A and 1B of Aoroa No. 3 Block, and a further portion of the said block marked “Cemetery” on plan deposited in Land Transfer Office at Auckland numbered 354. Bounded towards the north-west and north-east generally by other part of Aoroa Block, 1415, 312·2, and 243·5 links; south-east by a public road, 1423·9 links; towards south-west by part of aforesaid Aoroa Block, 349·5 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on plan marked 2/77, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland L.T. Plan 354.)

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint
FRANCIS THOMAS WILLIS
to be a Trustee, in the place of Frederick George Upton, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Waimana Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Frederick James Savage, William John Craig, William Wardlaw, Frederick Palmer, Allan John Mitchell, Edward Percy Woolfield, and William Lusby Richardson, previously appointed.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Wellington Land District for other Land.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section seventeen of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive by way of equality of exchange any sum not exceeding twenty-five per centum of the estimated value of the Crown land so granted:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 14 acres, more or less, being Section 15, Block IX, Hautapu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Pouwhakarua No. 1D Block, 3231·4 links; towards the south-east generally by Main Trunk Road, 1257·8 links; towards the south-west and north-west by Section 14, Block IX aforesaid, 351·3 links, 2713·2 links, and 175·2 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/750, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 13 acres 3 roods 29 perches, more or less, being part of Pouwhakarua No. 1D Block, situated in Block IX, Hautapu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west generally by Main Trunk Road, 1460 links; towards the north by other part of Pouwhakarua No. 1D Block, 177·7 links; towards the north-east and south-east generally by the North Island Main Trunk railway, 1914·2 links; and towards the south-west by Section 17, Block IX, Hautapu Survey District, 1675 link: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/750A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Amendment to Regulations under the Nurses Registration Act.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers and authority conferred upon me by section eleven of the Nurses Registration Act, 1908, I Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby revoke the regulations under the Nurses Registration Act, 1908, made on the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and make the following regulations in lieu thereof; these regulations to take effect from the date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
REGULATIONS.
In addition to the conditions under which a general hospital shall be eligible for recognition as a training school for nurses, as set forth in the regulations made on the 30th day of May, 1914, the following conditions must be fulfilled:—
(1.) Additional to clause 1 of regulations: “and shall be approved by the Registrar of Nurses.”
(2.) Before being accepted for the training school for the full course, pupil nurses shall serve a term of probation of at least three months, and at the end of that period shall be recommended as suitable for training by the Matron.
(3.) The proposed termination of the training of a pupil nurse during the prescribed period shall, with the cause thereof, be notified to the Registrar of Nurses, whose consent to such termination shall be required.
