Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Avondale Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

AVONDALE ROAD DISTRICT.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise certain Loans.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Avondale Road District taken on 1st July, 1916, on the following proposals the following votes were recorded :—

Proposals to borrow the sum of £14,000 for the purpose of constructing a main sewer: For, 91; against, 253.

Proposal to borrow the sum of £8,000 for the purpose of reticulation sewers for a defined part of the district: For, 45; against, 69.

Proposal to borrow the sum of £16,160 for the purpose of water-supply: For, 98; against, 246.

Proposal to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the purpose of roads improvement: For, 198; against, 151.

Proposal to borrow the sum of £1,000 for the purpose of repayment of overdraft in connection with the Avondale Public Hall and offices: For, 208; against, 142.

As the number of valid votes recorded in favour of either of the proposals is less than three-fifths of the valid votes recorded at the poll, I declare that the proposals are not carried.

Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the Service of Notices by Telegraph.

IN pursuance of the powers conferred upon me by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), and by the regulations made on the 12th May, 1914, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the 21st May, 1914, the following officers, at the addresses set against their names, are hereby appointed Transmitting and Receiving Officers for the purpose of dealing with all notices by telegraph sent under the said Act or regulations, and of signing such certificates in relation to the service of any such notices as are required or authorized to be signed or given under the said Act or the regulations aforesaid:—
