The North-eastern Side of District Road, in the Portobello Road District, exempted from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this seventeenth day of July, 1916.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of any road or street by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:

And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, and clause (b) of subsection one of section thirteen of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions as the Governor in Council thinks fit to impose, and may refer to one or both sides of the road or street:

And whereas the Portobello Road Board, the local authority having control of the road described in the Schedule hereto (hereinafter referred to as “the said road”), has passed the following resolution—viz., “Resolved that the provisions of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, shall not apply to the District Road (so far as setting-back on the eastern side thereof is concerned) between Sections 29 and 30, Upper Harbour East Survey District:

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved in so far as it refers to the north-eastern side of the said road:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Acts, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution to the extent hereinbefore mentioned.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Otago Land District, Portobello Road District, known as District Road, commencing at its junction with Beach Road, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction adjoining Sections 29 and 30, Upper Harbour East District. As the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40057, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon shown edged red.

Hunterville Patriotic Society incorporated under the War Funds Act, 1915.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this seventeenth day of July, 1916.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section twelve of the War Funds Act, 1915 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), it is provided that the Governor may, by Order in Council gazetted, incorporate a society possessing a war fund, or the trustees of such fund: And whereas application, in writing addressed to the Minister, has been made by the Hunterville Patriotic Society (being a society possessing a war fund), praying for the incorporation of that society:

And whereas it is considered desirable to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the society known as the Hunterville Patriotic Society is hereby incorporated for the purposes of the said Act as from the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall be known as the “Hunterville Patriotic Society.”

Wairarapa Patriotic Association incorporated under the War Funds Act, 1915.

And whereas it is considered desirable to grant such application:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the association known as the Wairarapa Patriotic Association is hereby incorporated for the purposes of the said Act as from the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, and shall be known as the “Wairarapa Patriotic Association.”

Opening Settlement Lands in Wellington Land District for Selection.


LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and amendments, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Wednesday, the thirtieth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.
