ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this tenth day of
July, 1916.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS the Cook County Council lately proposed to
raise a loan of two hundred pounds, under the Local
Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of metalling West-
mere Road: And whereas the special roll of the ratepayers
interested was not prepared, completed, and deposited for
public inspection before any steps were taken to raise the
loan, as required by section seventeen of the above-mentioned
Act: And whereas it appears that the said ratepayers have
not been misled by such irregularity or defect, and it is
expedient to validate the aforesaid proceedings:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
powers conferred by section one hundred and eleven of the
Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and acting by and with the
advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said
Dominion, doth validate the proceedings taken to raise the
above loan; and doth hereby declare that the said proceed-
ing shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the
same had been carried out in the proper manner, and that the
proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be
called in question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Declaring certain Lands in the Rangiora Survey District to
be Sanctuaries for Imported and Native Game.

PURSUANT to the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the areas
described in the Schedule hereto shall be sanctuaries for the
purposes of the said Animals Protection Act, and that no
imported or native game shall be taken or killed within the
said areas.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
11 acres 2 roods approximately, being the property of Mr.
Ligget, situated in Block VIII, Rangiora Survey District,
Rangiora County, being part of rural sections numbered 1991,
1992, 2003, 2004, and 10265. As the same is delineated on
the plan numbered I.A. 25/5/58 and coloured blue, deposited
in the office of the Department of Internal Affairs at Wel-
ington.
Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, contain-
ing 3 acres approximately, being the property of Mr. J. Wylie,
situated in Block VIII, Rangiora Survey District, Kowai
County, being part of rural sections numbered 1995 and 1962.
As the same is delineated on the plan numbered I.A. 25/5/58
and coloured blue, deposited in the office of the Department
of Internal Affairs at Wellington.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this sixth day of July, one thousand nine hun-
dred and sixteen.

Amending the Regulations in respect to the Selwyn Plantation
Reserves.

WHEREAS certain regulations for the administration
and control of the Selwyn Plantation Reserves were
made on the twelfth day of May, one thousand nine hundred
and eleven, under the powers conferred by section seventy-
seven of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public
Bodies Empowering Act, 1910, and such regulations were
gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighteenth day
of May, one thousand nine hundred and eleven: And whereas
it is expedient to revoke clauses six, thirteen, and fourteen
of the said regulations, and substitute the clauses hereinafter
set forth:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities con-
ferred upon me by section seventy-seven of the Reserves and
other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act,
1910, do hereby revoke clauses six, thirteen, and fourteen
of the said regulations, and do hereby substitute the follow-
ing clauses in lieu thereof:—

Special meetings may be called by the Chairman or by
the Secretary (duly appointed by the Board as hereinafter
provided), when so directed by the Chairman, provided that
not less than two days’ notice shall be given to each member
of the Board of the intention to hold the special meeting. -
The Board may from time to time appoint a secretary
and such inspectors and other officers or servants as it thinks
necessary for the proper carrying-out of the duties of the
Board. -
All records, books, and correspondence of the Board
shall be kept in the office of the Secretary, and he shall sign
all letters and other documents on behalf of the Board, and
shall be entitled to receive all letters addressed to the Board,
provided always that the Chairman shall sign all leases on
behalf of the Board.

this seventh day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

Opening Land in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Sale or
Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, Arthur
William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of
the Dominion of New Zealand, having received the report
of the Under-Secretary in this behalf, as provided by section
one hundred and fifty-four of the said Act, do hereby declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be
open for sale or selection on Thursday, the seventh day of
September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen; and
also that the land mentioned in the said Schedule may, at
the option of the applicant, be purchased for cash, or be
selected for occupation with right of purchase, or on renew-
able lease; and I do hereby also fix the price at which the
said land shall be sold, occupied, or leased, as mentioned in
the said Schedule hereto, and do declare that the said land
shall be sold, occupied, or leased under and subject to the
provisions of the Land Act, 1908.

HAWKE’S BAY LAND DISTRICT.—HAWKE’S BAY COUNTY.—
KURI PAPANGA SURVEY DISTRICT.
Second-class Land.
SECTIONS 1 and 2, Blocks IX and XIII: Area, 1,320 acres.
Approximate rent per acre per annum, 6½d. Capital value,
£890. Occupation with right of purchase: Half-yearly rent,
£22 5s. Renewable lease: Half-yearly rent, £17 16s.
Altitude from about 800 ft. to 3,400 ft. above sea-level.
About 400 acres in good papa and limestone faces in English
grasses. The balance is from fair to poor country in scrub
and fern. The northern boundary is fenced for about one
mile and three-quarters from Ngaruroro River. Hilly country
and well watered by permanent streams. Situated alongside
of Kuripapanga Post-office. Weekly coach service from
Hastings forty-three miles, and forty miles from Napier.

this seventh day of July, one thousand nine hun-
dred and sixteen.

Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liver-
pool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do
hereby appoint
JAMES WILLIAM JESSOP and
THOMAS NEALE
to be Trustees, in the places of Henry Hambrook Hawkins
and James Wilson, who have resigned, to provide for the
maintenance and care of the Marua Public Cemetery, in
