Approving the Sullivan Service Dam so that it may be used for the Actual Storage of Water.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this tenth day of July, 1916.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the Dunedin City Corporation has constructed Sullivan’s Dam, Leith Valley, known as the Sullivan Service Dam, and other works in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in it by the Dunedin Waterworks Extension Acts, 1875 and 1901:

And whereas the plans of such dam and other works were approved by the Governor in Council on the eleventh day of February, one thousand nine hundred and thirteen, as required by section eleven of the Dunedin Waterworks Extension Act, 1875:

And whereas it is necessary that the said dam and other works be approved by the Governor in Council as required by the said section eleven before they can be used for the actual storage of water:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the Dunedin Waterworks Extension Act, 1875, and the Dunedin Waterworks Extension Act, 1901, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve the said Sullivan Service Dam and other works.

Consenting to stopping a Road in Block VI, Kaihu Survey District, Hobson County.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this tenth day of July, 1916.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and thirty-three (a) of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is enacted that a local authority shall not declare any county road or district road to be stopped until the consent thereto of the Governor, by Order in Council gazetted, is obtained:

And whereas the Hobson County Council has applied for such consent in respect of the road described in the Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the above-in-part-recited Act, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby consent to the Hobson County Council stopping the road described in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road permitted to be stopped: 10 acres 2 roods 10·8 perches.

Adjoining or passing through Kaihu No. 1A, Nos. 1 and 2, Block VI, Kaihu Survey District (S.O. 17297A).

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40360, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured green.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this tenth day of July, 1916.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and ten, regulations were made under the authority of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), inter alia, prescribing the treatment of irregularly posted printed papers and commercial papers: And whereas it is desirable to add to such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the additional regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth declare that the regulation hereby made shall form part of and be read together with the regulations above recited, and shall take effect on and after the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

INLAND commercial papers or printed papers from two or more persons or firms shall not be enclosed in one cover or envelope. Any packet found to infringe this regulation shall be surcharged with double the difference between the amount of postage payable if the matter relating to the several persons or firms had been posted separately and the amount of postage affixed to the packet.

Declaring Portion of Tokirima Road, in the Ohura County, to be a County Road.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House at Wellington, this tenth day of July, 1916.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that portion of the Tokirima Road, in the Taranaki Land District, Ohura County, commencing from the northern side of and including the Whauwhau Falls Bridge (Blaremburg’s), and proceeding thence in a southerly direction generally, adjoining or passing through Koiro Block and Section 13, and between Sections 14 and 15, Blocks II and VI, Heao Survey District, to the northern side of bridge across Opatu Stream; being a distance of two miles and a quarter, more or less. As the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40387, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.
