Withdrawing Land in Canterbury Land District from
Stour Village Settlement.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred upon me by the fifth section of the Land Act,
1908, and of every other power and authority enabling me
in that behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby revoke the Proclamation dated the seventeenth
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, in
so far as it relates to the land described in the Schedule
hereto; and do declare that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the said land is hereby withdrawn from Stour
Village Settlement.

SCHEDULE.

CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—STOUR VILLAGE SETTLEMENT.—
ALFORD SURVEY DISTRICT.

and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House at Wellington, this seventh day of
July, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

Proclaiming Native Land to be Crown Land under Section 374
of the Native Land Act, 1909.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and seventy-four
of the Native Land Act, 1909 (hereinafter referred to
as “the said Act”), and by section fourteen of the Native
Land Amendment Act, 1914, it is provided, inter alia, that,
on being satisfied that the purchase of any Native land has
been duly completed by or on behalf of the Crown under
the authority of the said Act, the Governor may issue a
Proclamation that such land has become Crown land :
And whereas the purchase of the Native land set out in the
Schedule hereto has been duly completed by or on behalf of
the Crown under the authority of the said Act :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority conferred upon me by section three hundred and
seventy-four of the said Act, and by section fourteen of the
Native Land Amendment Act, 1914, I, Arthur William
de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the
Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim the land set
out in the Schedule hereto to be Crown land.

SCHEDULE.

Lots 369 and 355, Parish of Pirongia: Approximate area,
170 acr.s; Pirongia Survey District.

Allocating to the Purposes of a Road Land in Block XV,
Rangiriri Survey District, taken for a Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms part of land taken for the purposes of the
Kaipara—Waikato Railway, and it is considered desirable to
allocate such land to the purposes of a road :
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of
Public Works that such land is not required for railway
purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the Huntly
Town District, the local authority of which has consented
to the issue of this Proclamation, and appears to be the
local authority most capable of conveniently and effectively
controlling and maintaining the said road:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the
Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and
authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand
Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be
maintained by the Huntly Town Board in like manner as
other public highways are controlled and maintained by the
said Board.

SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land allocated as a road :
25·49 perches.
Portion of railway reserve, Block XV, Rangiriri Survey
District (S.O. 18834).

In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 40472,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured sepia.

Declaring Land taken for a Public Work, and not required
for such Public Work, to be Crown Land.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the
Public Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any
land held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under
this or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise
howsoever, for any public work is not required for such
public work, the Governor may, by an Order in Council
publicly notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold
under the conditions therein mentioned :
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of
any land so taken, purchased, or acquired for a Government
work and not required for that purpose the Governor
may, on the recommendation of the Minister, and without
complying with any other requirements of the aforesaid
section thirty, by Proclamation declare such land to be
Crown land subject to the Land Act, 1908, and thereupon
the land may be administered and disposed of under that
Act accordingly :
And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto
was taken for the purposes of roads: And whereas such
roads have been closed, and it is desirable to declare the
land contained therein to be Crown land: And whereas a
plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended
the Governor to declare such land to be Crown land :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authorities conferred upon me by the above-in-part-
