NOTICE OF INTENTION TO TAKE LAND.
In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and their amendments.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Council of the Eastbourne Borough Council proposes, under the provisions of the above-named Acts, and all other Acts and powers enabling it in that behalf, to execute a certain public work—namely, for the purposes of a street; and for the purpose of such public work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that plans of the lands so required to be taken are deposited in the public office of the Town Clerk to the said Council situate in the Council’s offices at the Ferry Wharf, Jervois Quay, in the City of Wellington, and are there open for inspection (without fee) by all persons during ordinary office hours; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or the taking of such lands should, if they have well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of the said lands, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Eastbourne Borough Council addressed to the Town Clerk at his said office.

NOTICE OF SPECIAL RESOLUTION TO WIND UP.
In the matter of the Companies Act, and in the matter of the KARAMEA STEAMSHIP COMPANY (LIMITED).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at the registered office of the company, Dalgety’s Buildings, Wellington, on the 13th June, 1916, the following special resolution was duly passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at registered office of the company, Dalgety’s Buildings, Wellington, on the 4th July, 1916, the following resolution was duly confirmed:—
That the company named the Karamea Steamship Company (Limited) be wound up; and at such last-mentioned meeting WILLIAM SELLARS BENNETT, of Featherston Street, Wellington, was appointed Liquidator for the purpose of winding-up.

MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
WHEREAS by section 3 of the Hutt Road Act, 1915, it is provided that towards the cost of forming and constructing the Hutt Road there shall be payable by each of the local authorities mentioned in the First Schedule thereto the sum set opposite the name of the local authority in the said Schedule: And whereas the Miramar Borough Council is one of the local authorities as mentioned: And whereas the same Act authorizes the issue by each of the local authorities of debentures for the amount payable by it as aforesaid: And whereas it is further provided that for the purpose of paying the interest and sinking fund in respect of debentures so issued the local authority shall make and levy a special rate on all rateable property within its district:
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Hutt Road Act, 1915, the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and the amendments thereto, and all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, the Miramar Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of one hundred and fifty pounds (£150), authorized to be raised by the Miramar Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing its share of the cost of the construction of the Hutt Road as set out in the First Schedule to the Hutt Road Act, 1915, the said Miramar Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one two-hundredths of a penny in the pound sterling upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the district, comprising the whole of the Borough of Miramar; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the last days of September and March in each year during the currency of such loan, being a period of fifty years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
Passed at Miramar at a duly constituted meeting of the Miramar Borough Council held in the Council Office on Broadway, the twenty-seventh day of April, Thursday, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed at Miramar on the twenty-seventh day of April, 1916, as appearing in the minute-book of the Council.

PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE, ⅜ OF 1d. IN POUND.—PIAKOITI SPECIAL-RATING AREA.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Piako County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the instalments in respect of principal and interest and also the other charges on a loan of six hundred and fifty pounds, authorized to be raised by the Piako County Council, under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of completing the drainage works in the Piakoiti Special Drainage District, the said Piako County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-eighths of one penny in the pound upon all the rateable property of the Piakoiti Special Drainage District, comprising all that area of land in the Walton Riding of the County of Piako commencing at a point where Hutchinson’s Road junctions with the railway-line, along Hutchinson’s Road in a southerly direction to the Walton-Kiwitahi Road; thence by a right line southerly across the old Landsdown Estate and along the eastern boundaries of Messrs. C. Smith’s and W. Mapp’s sections to a point on a road running easterly from the Piakoiti Road 45 chains east from the junction of the said roads; thence by a right line in a south-westerly direction to a point on the southern boundary of Section 10, Richmond Downs Estate, 20 chains west from its south-east corner; thence by a right line southerly to a point 60 chains
