HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve of the appointments, promotions, resignations, and transfers of the undermentioned officers of the Staff and Territorial Force:—
Staff.
Temporary Sergeant-Instructor Albert Arthur Luckham (King’s Dragoon Guards) is granted the honorary rank of Lieutenant during the period of the war. Dated 16th June, 1916.
4th (Waikato) Mounted Rifles.
Major William Robert Cooper Walker to be Lieutenant-Colonel. Dated 23rd March, 1916.
New Zealand Garrison Artillery.
Lieutenant William Howard Johnson to be Captain, under the provisions of paragraph 111, General Regulations, 1913. Dated 15th February, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant Benjamin John Ager to be Lieutenant. Dated 30th March, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant Frank Chambers Harris is transferred to the Reserve of Officers. Dated 19th June, 1916.
Frank Finch to be Lieutenant (temp.), Auckland Garrison Artillery Division, vice Lieutenant H. G. Wilding, on active service. Dated 24th May, 1916.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Robert Westley Bothamley is confirmed.
Corporal Horace Peile Challen Clark to be 2nd Lieutenant, Auckland Garrison Artillery Division (supernumerary to establishment). Dated 9th June, 1916.
New Zealand Field Artillery.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Henry Chynoweth Cook is confirmed.
Corps of New Zealand Engineers.
2nd Lieutenant William Stivens McCrorie is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and is absorbed into the establishment. Dated 19th May, 1916.
1st (Canterbury) Regiment.
Lieutenant Eric William Cuddon to be Captain. Dated 7th June, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Henry Scarvell Barns resigns his appointment. Dated 27th May, 1916.
3rd (Auckland) Regiment (Countess of Ranfurly’s Own).—Coast Defence Detachment.
George McWhirter Webster to be 2nd Lieutenant (temp.), vice 2nd Lieutenant Turner, on active service. Dated 12th June, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant Alfred Richard Merrington is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and absorbed into the establishment. Dated 25th June, 1916.
2nd Lieutenant Alfred Richard Merrington is posted to the Retired List, with permission to retain his rank and wear the prescribed uniform. Dated 25th June, 1916.
10th (North Otago) Regiment.
The appointment of 2nd Lieutenant (on probation) Ralph Malcolm is confirmed.

The Reverend John Thomas Brennan, Chaplain to the Forces (4th Class), is struck off the strength of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force, and is absorbed. Dated 25th June, 1916.

he having a total rank and commissioned service to the 17th May, 1916, entitling him thereto of twenty years and one hundred days.
