THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land which is held under renewable lease from His Majesty the King issued under the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Administration Act, 1909, dated the eleventh day of December, one thousand nine hundred and twelve :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is required for a public purpose—that is to say, for a site for a public school :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section one hundred and forty-four of the Land Act, 1908, and section sixty-seven of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby proclaim and declare that I hereby resume possession of the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto for the public purpose hereinbefore mentioned, the same being part of the land held under renewable lease as aforesaid.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 roods 39 perches, more or less, being Section 18A, Elderslie No. 2 Settlement, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the northern corner of the junction of Burnside Road and Pine Hill Road; thence by Burnside Road, 313° 35′, 333·1 links; by Section 11A, 40° 4′, 297·8 links, 133° 6′, 331·7 links, to Pine Hill Road; by said road, 219° 48′, 301·1 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/6/18, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this nineteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road at Te Roti.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Foxton–New Plymouth Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road :
And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes: And whereas such land is situated in the County of Eltham, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation :
And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Eltham County Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 1 rood 8 perches. Portion of railway reserve, Block III, Ngaiere Survey District, Eltham County.
In the Taranaki Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked W.R. 23502, deposited in the office of the Minister of Railways at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon bordered pink.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this thirteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Wellington–Foxton Railway to take further land at Johnsonville, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.
