Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Kumara Domain.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fourth day of January, 1916.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty-seven of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, by Order in Council gazetted, appoint any local authority to be a Domain Board having, subject to the said Act, control of any public domain:

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the third day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the tenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and eight, a Domain Board was appointed to control the Kumara Domain:

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the second day of December, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen:

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint the

KUMARA BOROUGH COUNCIL

to be the Kumara Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Thursday, the tenth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, at eight o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Borough Council Office, Kumara, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.

KUMARA DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods 27 perches, more or less, comprising Sections 815 to 835, Town of Kumara, being Reserves Nos. 221 and 824, Town of Kumara. Bounded towards the north by Cashman Street, 846 links; towards the east by Town Belt Road, 500 links; towards the south by Greenstone Road, 250 links, Section 836, 250 links, by Section 836 to Section 845, 541 links; towards the west by E.B. Road, 256 links.

Also all that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 2 roods 26 perches, more or less, being sections numbered 778 to 814, Town of Kumara, now known as Reserve No. 255. Bounded towards the north and east by Town Belt West, 989 links, and Town Belt South, 500 links; towards the south and west by Cashman Street, 879 links, and E.B. Road, 512 links.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. 1061A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered pink.

Prohibiting all Private Alienation of certain Native Land.

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of January, 1916.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

ON the recommendation of the Native Land Purchase Board, referred to in section three hundred and sixty-three of the Native Land Act, 1909, and section one hundred and eleven of the Native Land Amendment Act, 1913, and in exercise of the power in this behalf conferred upon him by those sections, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby extend an Order in Council made the sixth day of February, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, for a further period of six months, prohibiting all alienations of the Native land specified in the Schedule hereto other than alienations in favour of the Crown.
