with: And whereas it is desirable to add to such regulations
in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act,
and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling
him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the
Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make
the regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth
order that the regulation hereby made shall form part of
and be read together with the regulations made by the above-
recited Order in Council, and shall have effect on and after
the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the
New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
On payment of an annual fee of £2, and provided that the
Department can conveniently make the necessary arrange-
ments, a subscriber to a telephone exchange that is not open
continuously may, after the exchange to which he is a sub-
scriber is closed, be switched through to another exchange
that is still open.

Approving the Ashburton Belgian Relief Association Fund
under the War Contributions Validation Act, 1914
(No. 2).
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section two of the War Contributions
Validation Act, 1914 (No. 2), (hereinafter referred to
as “the said Act”) it is enacted as follows:—
Contributions, whether in money or kind, may be made by
any local authority or body of persons, whether corporate or
unincorporate, other than private trustees under a settle-
ment or will—
(a.) For the relief of distress occasioned by the war in
which His Majesty is at present engaged, whether
such distress exists in New Zealand or elsewhere in
the British Dominions, or in any country allied to
His Majesty;
(b.) For any patriotic objects approved for the purposes of
this Act by the Governor:
Provided that every such contribution is paid either—
(1.) Into a public fund established by the Government, or
by any local authority, for the purposes of such
relief of distress, or patriotic objects; or
(2.) Into a fund established by persons other than the
Government or a local authority, where such fund
and the conditions of control and expenditure
thereof are approved for the purposes of this Act
by the Governor:
And whereas certain persons in the Provincial District
of Canterbury have formed themselves into an association
known as the Ashburton Belgian Relief Association for the
following purposes, namely:—
(a.) To provide from the Town and County of Ashburton
food, clothing, and money, and other relief and
comfort for such of the people and subjects of the
Kingdom of Belgium as have suffered distress in or
on account of the present European War, whether
such persons are resident in Belgium or not:
(b.) To take all such steps for the securing, collecting, and
obtaining and providing such relief as the associa-
tion may from time to time decide upon:
(c.) To become incorporated under the War Funds Act,
1915:
And whereas the said association has established a fund
for the promotion of the objects hereinbefore expressed, and
has submitted the said fund and the conditions of control
and the expenditure thereof for approval, as required by the
hereinbefore-quoted provisions of the said Act:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby approve for the purposes of the said Act—
(1.) The fund hereinbefore referred to, established by the
Ashburton Belgian Relief Association; and
(2.) The conditions of control and expenditure of the said
fund, as set out in the rules adopted by the said association
on the eighth day of February, one thousand nine hundred
and sixteen, and amended on the twenty-fifth day of March,
one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this seventeenth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

Amending Notice under Animals Protection Act.—Nelson
Acclimatization District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS it is expedient to amend, in manner here-
after provided, the notification made under the
Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated the seventh day of April,
one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and published in
the New Zealand Gazette of the twelfth day of the same
month, declaring a special shooting season for imported
game in the Nelson Acclimatization District:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl
of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby notify that the period wherein imported game
may be taken or killed within the said district shall be from
the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and
sixteen, to the thirty-first day of July, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen, in lieu of the period first day of
May, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, to thirtieth
day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, as
stated in the Warrant of the seventh April, which said
Warrant is hereby amended accordingly.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this twentieth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

Amending Notice under Animals Protection Act.—Marlborough
Acclimatization District.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS it is expedient to amend, in manner here-
after provided, the notification made under the
Animals Protection Act, 1908, dated the seventh day of
April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette of the twelfth day of the
same month, declaring a special shooting season for imported
and native game in the Marlborough Acclimatization District:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby notify that the period wherein native game may
be taken or killed within the said district shall be from the
first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, to
the fifteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and
sixteen, in lieu of the period first day of May, one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen, to thirty-first day of July, one
thousand nine hundred and sixteen, as stated in the Warrant
of the seventh April, which said Warrant is hereby amended
accordingly.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eighteenth day of April, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen.

Special Shooting Season for Imported and Native Game,
License Fee, &c., Bay of Islands Acclimatization Dis-
trict.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals
Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, do hereby exempt from the operation of section
twenty-six of the said Act the Bay of Islands Acclimatization
District, and do hereby notify that the following imported
game—viz., cock pheasants and Californian and Australian
quail—may be killed within the Bay of Islands Acclimatiza-
tion District, comprising the County of Bay of Islands and
part of the County of Hokianga (except in the areas men-
tioned in the Schedule hereto), from the first day of May,
one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, to the thirtieth
day of June, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, both
days inclusive; and do hereby restrict the number of cock
pheasants that may be killed by any one person in any one
day to twelve. And I do further notify that licenses to kill
such imported game within the said district shall be issued to
any person on payment of the sum of twenty shillings each;
and the Postmasters at Russell, Kohukohu, Kaikohe, Kawa-
kawa, Rawene, Herekino, Ohaeawai, Broadwood, Hukerenui,
Opononi, Opua, Taheke, Towai, Waimamakau, Waiotemara-
mara, Whangape, and Okaihau are hereby appointed to sign
and issue the said licenses to kill imported game.
And I do further notify that the following native game—
viz., grey duck, teal, pukeko, and black swan—may be killed
