Vesting Portion of Pouakani Block in certain Natives.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section fifty-seven of the Reserves and other Lands Disposal and Public Bodies Empowering Act, 1914, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby vested in the persons whose names appear in an order of the Native Land Court, under the hand of Michael Gilfedder, Esquire, a Judge of the said Court, made at Greytown North on the twenty-second day of January, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen, as the Maori owners of such land for the relative interests therein set out.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 30,486 acres, being part of the land known as the Pouakani Block, and bounded towards the north-east by the Waikato River from the Waipapa River to Mangakino Stream; thence towards the south-east by that stream and the Mihianga Stream; towards the south by a right line running due west from the said Mihianga Stream to the eastern boundary of Maraeroa A Block, Section 3, so as to include the said area of 30,486 acres; and towards the west generally by the said Maraeroa A Block, Section 3, to the Waiteti Stream, by that stream to and by Pouakani C No. 2 Block, and again by the Waiteti Stream to the Waipapa River, and by that river to its confluence with the Waikato River, the place of commencement. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 11/62, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House at Wellington, this fourteenth day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

WHEREAS the Land Board of the Nelson Land District has recommended that the Crown tenant of the land described in the Schedule hereto should be afforded relief, owing to exceptional circumstances over which he has no control preventing the profitable occupation of such land:
