deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured green.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right

Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in

At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth
day of March, 1916.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the seventeenth
day of December, one thousand nine hundred and
eight, the Ferguson’s Mining and Smelting Company (Li-
mitted) was licensed to occupy a part of the foreshore and
land below low-water mark at Waiomo as a site for a dock
and tramway for a period of fourteen years:
And whereas it is desirable to revoke the said license and
the rights and privileges thereby conferred:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours
Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of
the seventeenth day of December, one thousand nine hundred
and eight, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred,
as from the seventeenth day of December, one thousand
nine hundred and fifteen.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the first day of
November, one thousand nine hundred and seven,
and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 96, of the
seventh day of the same month, the Ferguson’s Mining and
Smelting Company (Limited) was licensed to occupy a part
of the foreshore and land below low-water mark at Waiomo
as a site for a wharf for a period of fourteen years:
And whereas it is desirable to revoke the said license and
the rights and privileges thereby conferred:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours
Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of
the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and
seven, and the rights and privileges thereby conferred, as
from the first day of December, one thousand nine hundred
and fifteen.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth
day of February, one thousand nine hundred and
nine, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 18, of
the fourth day of the following month, David Goldie was
licensed to occupy a part of the foreshore of the Hauarahi
Stream, Manukau County, as a site for timber-booms for a
period of fourteen years:
And whereas it is desirable to revoke the said license and
the rights and privileges thereby conferred:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the
power and authority conferred upon him by the Harbours
Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling
him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth
hereby revoke the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council of
the twenty-fourth day of February, one thousand nine
hundred and nine, and the rights and privileges thereby
conferred, as from the twenty-fourth day of February, one
thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Consenting to the Raising of Loans by certain Local Authorities.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House at Wellington, this twenty-ninth
day of March, 1916.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of
the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that,
notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be
lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour
Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or
contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of
bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that
behalf) whether from the State Advances Office or from any
other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special
Act or under any other authority whatever, without the
precedent consent of the Governor in Council:
And whereas application has been made for the consent
of the Governor in Council to enable the several local autho-
rities mentioned in the Schedule hereto to borrow the loans
set out in column B therein:
And whereas it is expedient that the precedent consent
of the Governor in Council should issue:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Do-
minion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion,
doth hereby consent to the borrowing of the loans herein-
after mentioned by the several local authorities set out in
the Schedule hereto; provided that the rate of interest at
which the loans or any of them are to be raised shall in no
case exceed five and one-quarter per centum per annum; and
it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under
the provisions in that behalf of the Appropriation Act, 1915,
and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor
in Council to the raising of the loans hereby authorized.
