Defining the Middle-line of a Further Portion of the Opunake Branch of the Foxton–New Plymouth Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the Opunake Branch of the Foxton–New Plymouth Railway (hereinafter termed “the said railway”), is a railway the construction of which is authorized by the Railways Authorization Act, 1912: And whereas the said railway has been partly constructed, and it has been determined to construct and maintain a further portion of the same:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and in exercise of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the middle-line of the said further portion of the said railway shall be that defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point in Section 40, Block XIV, Opunake Survey District, marked 15 miles, which point is also the termination of the railway defined in a Proclamation dated the 9th day of March, 1915, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 36, page 824, of the 11th day of the same month; and proceeding thence in a westerly and north-westerly direction generally for a distance of 7 miles 29·9823 chains, and passing in, into, through, or over the following land, &c.—viz., Sections part 40, 39, 38, 37, 35, 34, 26, 27 N.R., Sections 18, 19, Block XIV, Opunake Survey District; Sections 3, 30, 31, and Subdivision 1, Mataikawhai Block, Block XIII, Opunake Survey District; Subdivisions 4 and 1 of Section 35, Pukekohatu Block; Sections 14, 16, 13, 8, 24, 21, 25, and 27, Orimupiko Block, Block XII, Opunake Survey District; Subdivisions 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, and part 5, railway reserve, and terminating at a point near Longfellow Road, in the said Subdivision 5 of the railway reserve within the Township of Opunake, Block IX, Opunake Survey District, marked 23 miles: including all adjoining and intervening places, lands, reserves, roads, tracks, lakes, rivers, streams, and watercourses: all in the Taranaki Land District. As the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39696, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

Land taken for Scenic Purposes in Block XII, Halswell Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, for scenic purposes:

And whereas all the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for scenic purposes as aforesaid; and I do also hereby declare that this Proclamation shall take effect from and after the fifteenth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.


SCHEDULE.

APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land taken: 91 acres 2 roods 25 perches.

Portion of Sections 2612, 3083, 34824, and 35655, Block XII, Halswell Survey District (Canterbury R.D.).

In the Canterbury Land District; as the same is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39834, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon edged red.

Land taken for the more Effective Carrying-out of Drainage and other Works in the Hauraki Plains in Block XIII, Waihou Survey District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection one of section nine of the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, that the Governor may, from time to time, take under the Public Works Act, 1908, as for a public work, or purchase, whether under the provisions of the Maori Land Settlement Act, 1905, or otherwise, any area or areas of land adjacent to the land set apart under this Act as aforesaid, the acquisition of which is, in the opinion of the Governor, necessary for the more effective carrying-out of the drainage or other works authorized by this Act or for the better disposal of the land set apart:

And whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is adjacent to the land set apart under the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and the Governor has, in terms of subsection one of section nine of the said Act, expressed the opinion that the acquisition of the land described in the Schedule hereto is necessary for the more effective carrying-out of the drainage authorized by such Act:

And whereas the conditions precedent required by law to be observed and performed prior to the taking of such land for the purposes hereinbefore specified have been observed and performed:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Hauraki Plains Act, 1908, and the Public
