Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby, with the consents
of the owner of the land described in the First Schedule
hereto, and of the Hokianga County Council, being the local
authority in whose district the said land is situated, proclaim
as a road the land in Waoku Survey District described in
the First Schedule hereto; and also do hereby, with the like
consents as aforesaid, proclaim as closed the road described
in the Second Schedule hereto, which is not required by
reason of the road described in the First Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
LAND PROCLAIMED AS A ROAD.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land proclaimed as a
road: 2 acres 3 roods 32 perches.
Portion of Section 73.
Coloured on plan: Red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
ROAD CLOSED.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of road closed: 4 acres
0 roods 15 perches.
Adjoining or passing through Sections 73 and 62.
Coloured on plan: Green.
All situated in Block IX, Waoku Survey District (S.O.
18680).
All in the Auckland Land District; as the same are more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 39804,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured as above mentioned.

Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian

Additional Land in Newcastle Survey District taken for the
Purposes of the Huntly-Awaroa Branch of the Kaipara-
Waikato Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use,
conveyance, or enjoyment of the Huntly-Awaroa
Branch of the Kaipara-Waikato Railway to take further
land in Newcastle Survey District, in addition to land pre-
viously acquired for the purposes of the said railway:
And whereas it is desirable to take only the surface of
such land for the purposes hereinafter specified, together
with a portion of the subsoil thereof:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred
and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and section
seven of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1911, and of
every other power and authority in anywise enabling me
in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the sur-
face of the land mentioned in the First Schedule hereto,
together with that part of the subsoil of such land below the
formation-levels of the said railway shown on the plan
marked P.W.D. 38310, deposited in the office of the Minister
of Public Works at Wellington, as is described in the Second
Schedule hereto, is hereby taken for the purposes aforesaid.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
PIECE OF LAND OF WHICH SURFACE IS TAKEN.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land: 1 acre, being por-
tion of Section 211, Pepepe Parish.
Situated in Block II, Newcastle Survey District (S.O. 18600).
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 38310,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works at
Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
SUBSOIL TAKEN.
As to the area mentioned in the First Schedule: All the
subsoil down to a plane one hundred (100) feet below and
approximately parallel to the said line of formation-levels,
such plane being horizontal transversely to the said line of
formation-levels.

Amending Part of a Proclamation proclaiming Land as a Road
and closing a Road in Block II, Waiwera Survey District,
Waitemata and Rodney Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by section five of the Land Act, 1908, it is
therein provided that every Proclamation, Order in
Council, or other instrument, whether made under any Act
in force prior to the commencement of that Act or made
under or by virtue of that Act, and all regulations, by-laws,
conditions, or rules made by the Governor, the Minister, or
any Land Board, may be altered, amended, or revoked from
time to time:
And whereas it is necessary to amend a Proclamation
issued under the said Act, proclaiming land as a road and
closing a road in Waiwera Survey District, dated the twenty-
fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and
sixteen, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 6,
pages 184 and 185, of the twenty-seventh day of the same
month, and hereinafter referred to as “the said Proclama-
tion”:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in
me by the said Act, do hereby amend the said Proclamation
as follows—namely, by the deletion of the words “portion of”
after the area of three roods four perches in the First Schedule
of the said Proclamation.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by section thirty of the Public
Works Act, 1908, that if it is found that any land
held, taken, purchased, or acquired at any time under this
or any other Act or Provincial Ordinance, or otherwise how-
soever, for any public work is not required for such public
work the Governor may, by an Order in Council publicly
notified and gazetted, cause the same to be sold under the
conditions therein mentioned:
And whereas it is further provided by section five of the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, that in the case of any
