A PPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 17th April, 1916, for the position of Rabbitcr, Department of Agriculture, Renwicktown.

Applications (to be made on P.S.C. Form 17A, obtainable at principal post-offices) must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

Applicants should possess—
(a.) A thorough knowledge of and experience in methods of control of the rabbit pest; and
(b.) Experience in the eradication of noxious weeds.
The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.
The position will be graded in the General Division. Salary 9s., maximum 10s., per diem.

A T the examination of candidates for a surveyor's license held in March, 1916, under the Surveyors' Institute and Board of Examiners Act, 1908, and conducted by the Federated Surveyors' Boards of Australia and New Zealand, ten candidates presented themselves in New Zealand.
Of these, Mr. Francis Alan Fendall, of Auckland, Mr. Thomas Duncan McLean, of Greymouth, and Mr. Frederick Rich Smale, of Hamilton, completed their examination by passing in the computations, astronomy, and geodesy papers.
