Revoking Part of a Proclamation taking Land for the Purposes
of a Street in Block X, Port Nicholson Survey District, City
of Wellington.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909,
it is enacted that if at any time after the issue or
making of any Proclamation taking land under the Public
Works Act, 1908, and before the payment or award of any
compensation in respect of the taking thereof, it is found
that the land or any part thereof is not required for the pur-
pose for which it was taken, or that any error in form or
substance exists in or in relation to that Proclamation, or
the making or gazetting thereof, the Governor may, by a
subsequent Proclamation gazetted, revoke the former Pro-
clamation either wholly or so far as he thinks necessary :
And whereas it is found that in the Schedule to the Pro-
clamation made under the Public Works Act, 1908, dated
the first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and
sixteen (hereinafter termed “the said Proclamation”), and
published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 25, page 633, of
the second day of the same month, the area one rood is
described as being portion of Lot 71 on D.P. 392, part of
Section 12, Ohiro Registration District, City of Wellington :
And whereas the said area is the whole of the said Lot 71 :
And whereas compensation in respect of the taking of the
said land has not been paid or awarded :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of
Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in me by the
Public Works Amendment Act, 1909, and all other powers
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby revoke the words
“portion of” in the Schedule to the said Proclamation.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable Arthur William de Brito Savile,
Earl of Liverpool, Knight Grand Cross of the
Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Member of the Royal Victorian
Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zea-
land and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Govern-
ment House at Wellington, this twenty-third day
of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen.

Altering Boundaries of Ekatahuna and Castlepoint Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section
three of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, that
the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered
in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration
passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the
principal Act is in force :
And whereas a resolution was passed by the Ekatahuna
County Council on the eleventh day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen, and sealed with the seal of the
Council of the said county on the eleventh day of March,
one thousand nine hundred and sixteen: And whereas a
similar resolution was passed by the Castlepoint County
Council on the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand nine
hundred and sixteen, and sealed with the seal of the said
county on the twenty-fifth day of March, one thousand
nine hundred and sixteen, praying for the inclusion in the
Ekatahuna County of that part of the Castlepoint County
described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule
hereto: And whereas it is expedient to make such altera-
tion in accordance with the said resolutions :
Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers
and authority conferred on me by the said Act, I, Arthur
William De Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor
of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto,
being now part of the Castlepoint County, shall, as from the
first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen,
be deemed to be added to and form part of the Ekatahuna
County; and, with the like power and authority, do proclaim
and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of Ekatahuna
and Castlepoint respectively shall, as from the aforesaid date,
be those set forth under their respective headings in the
Second Schedule hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
AREA TO BE INCLUDED IN EKETAHUNA COUNTY.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded by
a line commencing at the north-western corner of Section 174,
in Block XI, Puketoi Survey District, on the Waitawhiti
Stream; thence along that stream to Section 193, Block XII,
Puketoi Survey District, along the western and southern
boundaries of that section to its south-eastern corner, along
the eastern boundary and part of the southern boundary of
Section 192, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, and the
eastern boundary of Section 161 to the northernmost corner
of Section 822, along the north-western and western bound-
aries of that section and along the northern boundary of
Section 824, Block III, Mangapakeha Survey District, to
the Taueru River; thence to and along the middle of that
river to a point in line with the north-western boundary of
Section 175, Block XV, Puketoi Survey District; thence
along a right line to and along the north-western boundary
of that section and the north-western boundary of Section 174
aforesaid to the Waitawhiti Stream, the place of commence-
ment.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
BOUNDARIES OF EKETAHUNA COUNTY.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded
towards the north generally by Pahiatua County, as described
in the Schedule to the Counties Act Amendment Act, 1888,
from the summit of the Tararua Range to the westernmost
corner of Akitio County, as described in the New Zealand
Gazette of the 1st December, 1905, page 2763; thence to-
wards the east generally by the said Akitio County to Sec-
tion 2, Block XVI, Puketoi Survey District, by that section,
Section 1, the abutment of a road, Sections 7 and 822 to
Section 824, Block III, Mangapakeha Survey District, and
by that section to the Taueru River; thence to and by a
line along the middle of that river to a point in line with the
northern boundary of Section 225, Block II, Mangapakeha
Survey District; thence towards the south generally to and
by that section to the westernmost corner of Section 149, by
the north-western boundaries of Sections 149 and 148, Block II
aforesaid, to the northernmost corner of the latter section;
thence by a right line to the easternmost corner of Section 26,
Block I, by that section and Sections 25, 24, 23, and 22 to
Section 17, the easternmost corner of Mauriceville County,
and thence by that county to the summit of the Tararua
Range; and thence towards the north-west by a line along
the summit of that range to Pahiatua County, the place of
commencement.
BOUNDARIES OF CASTLEPOINT COUNTY.
All that area in the Wellington Land District, bounded
towards the north generally by the Akitio County, and
described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 1st December,
1905, page 2763, from the south-western corner of Section 19,
Block XII, Puketoi Survey District, to the sea; towards the
east by the sea to the mouth of the Whareama River; thence
towards the south and west generally by Masterton County
to the middle of the Taueru River; and thence by the
Ekatahuna County hereinbefore described to Section 19,
Block XII, Puketoi Survey District, the place of commence-
ment.
