Special Order made by the Epsom Road Board.

THE following special order, made by the Epsom Road Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

EPSOM ROAD BOARD.

Special Order raising Supplementary Loan of £5,500.

WHEREAS the Epsom Road Board in the year 1914 did, for the purpose of constructing drainage-works for the drainage of the whole of the Epsom Road District, raise a special loan of £55,000 : And whereas the amount of the said loan has been found insufficient to complete the undertaking in respect of which the said loan was raised :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in and conferred upon it in that behalf by the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, and in pursuance and exercise of all other powers enabling it in that behalf, the Epsom Road Board doth hereby resolve by special order—

  1. To raise a special loan of and to borrow the sum of £5,500 for the purpose of completing the undertaking in respect of which the said loan of £55,000 was raised.

  2. That the said loan of £5,500 to be so raised shall be for the term of thirty-four years, and be repayable in Sydney, New South Wales, on the 1st day of January, 1950.

  3. That the interest on the said loan shall be payable at Sydney, New South Wales, at the rate of £5½ per centum per annum, payable half-yearly on the 1st day of January and 1st day of July in each year during the currency of such loan.

  4. That the security for the said loan shall be a special rate of one-twelfth of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property of the Epsom Road District.

  5. That a sinking fund of £55 per annum be established in connection with the said loan.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order of the Epsom Road Board has been duly passed in conformity with the Road Boards Act, 1908.

Results of Polls for Proposed Loans.

Wellington, 22nd March, 1916.

THE following notices, received from the Mayor of the Borough of Dargaville, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913.

BOROUGH OF DARGAVILLE.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Dargaville taken on the 8th day of March, 1916, on the proposal of the Dargaville Borough Council to borrow the sum of £8,000 for the completion of the inauguration and construction of a gravitation water-supply scheme for the Borough of Dargaville, and the engineering charges in connection therewith, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 108 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 9 ; informal votes, 4.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF DARGAVILLE.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Dargaville taken on the 8th day of March, 1916, on the proposal of the Dargaville Borough Council to borrow the sum of £361 10s. for completing the formation and metalling of Normanby Street, Dargaville, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 87 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 29 ; informal votes, 5.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

BOROUGH OF DARGAVILLE.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Dargaville taken on the 8th day of March, 1916, on the proposal of the Dargaville Borough Council to borrow the sum of £2,500 for acquiring site for municipal buildings and erecting the said buildings, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 63 ; the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 54 ; informal votes, 4.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

Glen Massey Special-rating District.—Loan of £1,100 for the Formation and Metalling of Roads at Glen Massey.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 12 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that the following is the result of a poll of the ratepayers of the Glen Massey Special-rating District taken on the 14th day of March, 1916, on the proposal to borrow the sum of £1,100 for the purpose of forming and metalling certain roads at Glen Massey : Total number of valid votes recorded, 3 ; for the proposal, 0 ; against the proposal, 3.

The number of valid votes recorded in favour of the proposal being less than three-fifths of the total number of valid votes recorded, I hereby declare the proposal to be lost.

First Meeting of the Ohakune Fire Board.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Fire Brigades Act, 1908, I, George Warren Russell, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Dominion of New Zealand, hereby appoint the Ohakune Municipal Chambers, Ohakune, at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, the 27th day of March, 1916, to be the place and date for holding the first meeting of the Ohakune Fire Board.

Constitution of a Special Roading District in Terms of Section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913.

PURSUANT to section 50 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, and the regulations thereunder, I, William Fergusson Massey, Minister of Lands, do hereby, on the recommendation of the Land Board of the Wellington Land District, declare the lands referred to in the Schedule hereto to be a special district for the purposes of the said section; and such district shall be known as the Te Maire Special Road District.
