Bounded towards the north-east by Rural Section 12899 in the said Block IX, and a right line in continuation of the south-western boundary thereof to the high-water mark of the South Pacific Ocean; towards the south-east by the high-water mark of the South Pacific Ocean and by Reserve 911 (in red), Block XI aforesaid; towards the south-west by a right line in continuation of the south-western boundary of the said Reserve 911 to Rural Section 2212, Block XI aforesaid, by the said Rural Section 2212, by Rural Section 2149 in Block X, and by a railway reserve; and towards the north-west by Rural Section 7458, Block XI aforesaid, and Rural Sections 8330, 4014, 3904, 12168, and 12287, Block IX aforesaid. As the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 55944, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 2 roods, more or less, and being parts of Sections 2149 and 2212, Blocks X and XI, Arowhenua Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at a point 105·7 links south and 417·3 links east of Trig. Station D 38; thence towards the south-west generally by other part of Section 2212, 109·6 links, 952·2 links, 905·8 links, 1402 links, and 167·5 links, and by the railway reserve, 1250 links; towards the north by the railway reserve, 30 links, to the Washdyke Lagoon Sanctuary (Reserve 2593); thence towards the north-east by the aforesaid lagoon to the point of commencement. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 55944, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured green.

Regulations for Deer-shooting, Otago.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations prescribing the deer-shooting season in the Otago Acclimatization District, and the conditions affecting the same, and also the form of license and the fee payable therefor.
REGULATIONS.

RED-DEER stags may be taken or killed within the Otago Acclimatization District, except in the areas described in the First Schedule hereto, from the 1st day of April, 1916, to the 20th day of May, 1916 (both days inclusive).

Fallow-deer bucks may be taken or killed within the said district, except in the areas described in the First Schedule hereto, from the 1st day of April, 1916, to the 15th day of May, 1916 (both days inclusive).

Licenses to take or kill red-deer stags may be issued by the Chief Postmaster, Dunedin, on the recommendation of the secretary of the Otago Acclimatization Society, on payment of a license fee of £4, and licenses to take or kill fallow-deer bucks may be issued by the said Chief Postmaster, upon a like recommendation, on payment of a license fee of £2; such licenses to be issued in the form prescribed in the Second Schedule hereto, and subject to the said Act and these regulations.

No licensee shall take or kill more than four red-deer stags or two fallow-deer bucks, and no red-deer stag shall be killed carrying antlers with less than ten points, and no fallow-deer buck shall be killed carrying antlers with less than fourteen points (on a palmate of less than 4 in.). Ball cartridge only to be used.

The licensee must give notice to the said Chief Postmaster of the date on which it is his intention to stalk deer; such notice to be posted, or delivered, or telegraphed three clear days before such date.

No doe, hind, or fawn shall be taken or killed on any pretext whatever; and no licensee shall allow any dog to accompany either himself or any attendant he may have with him.

Nothing herein contained shall extend to authorizing any person to sell any deer or any portion thereof.

Regulations as to deer “tags,” per New Zealand Gazette No. 40, Vol. I, of 20th May, 1909, page 1408, shall be strictly adhered to by each licensee, who, in addition thereto, shall return all unused “tags” to the secretary of the Otago Acclimatization Society immediately he has finished stalking for the season for which such “tags” have been issued, together with a statement of the number of deer shot.

Any person committing a breach of any of these regulations shall be liable, on conviction, to a fine not exceeding £20.

All that area known as the Greenvale, Wart Hill, Upper Pomahaka, and Whitecomb Districts.
SECOND SCHEDULE.

, of , having this day paid the sum of £ , is hereby authorized to take or kill deer (bucks or stags), of not less than ten points for red-deer stags, and fourteen points on palmate of not less than 4 in. for fallow-deer bucks, within the Otago Acclimatization District, upon Block No. , from the day of 1916, to the day of , 1916 (both days inclusive), subject to the provisions of the Animals Protection Act, 1908, and all regulations thereunder in force within the said district.

Powers delegated to the Papatawai Scenic Reserves Board under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by section thirteen of the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand doth hereby vest the control of the reserves described in the Schedule below (being lands reserved under the said Act), for three years from the date of this notice (unless previously altered or revoked under the said Act), in the undermentioned persons, namely, —
WILLIAM MARTIN,
FREDERICK GILBERT,
JAMES HERBERT OLLERENSHAW,
WILLIAM WILSON,
JOHN FADDES,
WILLIAM LAWSON, all of Papatawai; and
Dr. FREDERICK TRUBY KING, M.B., &c., of Seacliff,
who are hereby constituted for that purpose a special Board by the name of the Papatawai Scenic Reserves Board (herein referred to as “the Board”), in trust, for the preservation of scenery, and with the powers and subject to the conditions hereinafter contained, that is to say:—

The Board shall meet for the transaction of business at Mr. Lawson’s residence at Papatawai on the second Saturday in the months of January, April, July, and October in each year, at eight o’clock p.m., or at such other time or place as may from time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held at eight o’clock p.m. on Saturday, the eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

The members of the Board shall at their first meeting, and thereafter at the annual meeting hereinafter mentioned, elect one of themselves to be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The Chairman shall hold office until the election of his successor.

Special meetings may be convened by the Chairman, provided that two days’ notice of such meeting is given to each member, specifying the business to be transacted at such special meeting; and no other business than that so specified shall be transacted at such meeting.

Any four members of the Board shall form a quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time to time.
-
All questions shall be determined by the majority of votes of the members of the Board present at a meeting.
-
If at any meeting the Chairman is not present at the time appointed for holding the same, the members present shall choose some one of their number to be chairman of such meeting.
-
If, by resignation, death, incapacity, or otherwise, the seat of any member shall be or become vacant, or if any member absents himself, without reasonable cause, from three
