Arrivals and Departures in 1915.

TABLES showing the numbers of arrivals in and departures from New Zealand during the year 1915, with totals for the previous nine years by way of comparison, are published for general information.
The total number of persons who arrived in the Dominion during 1915 was 25,551, and the departures during the year numbered 22,476, the excess of arrivals over departures for the year being 3,075.
According to returns furnished by the Immigration officers, 3,531 persons arrived from the United Kingdom, and 2,063 persons departed therefor during the year. From the Commonwealth of Australia the arrivals are returned as numbering 19,499 persons, and the departures thereto as 17,793 persons. Arrivals and departures from and to other countries were 2,521 and 2,620 persons respectively.
Of the 25,551 persons who came to New Zealand last year, 2,967, or 11·62 per cent. of the total, were children—i.e., under twelve years of age; and of the 22,476 departures the children numbered 1,997, or 8·89 per cent.
The arrivals and departures shown do not include members of the Expeditionary Forces.
