Approving Permanent Investment and Loan Association of Southland under the Trustee Amendment Act, 1914.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this eighth day of February, 1916.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to approve the Permanent Investment and Loan Association of Southland as an institution for the purposes of section three of the Trustee Amendment Act, 1914:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve the said Permanent Investment and Loan Association of Southland as an institution with which, subject to the provisions of the said Act, it shall be lawful for a trustee, unless expressly forbidden by the instrument (if any) creating the trust, to invest any trust funds in his hands on deposit at interest.

Amending Regulations under the Plumbers Registration Act, 1912.

WHEREAS by an Order in Council dated the eighteenth day of May, 1914, and published in the Gazette of the twenty-first day of May, then instant, regulations were made prescribing, inter alia, the districts or localities within which no sanitary plumbing may be done except by persons registered under the Plumbers Registration Act, 1912: And whereas the name of the Ellerslie Town District was, in error, included under the heading of “Road Districts,” and it is expedient to correct the said error:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on him by the Plumbers Registration Act, 1912, and of every other power and authority enabling him in this behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the Fourth Schedule to the above-recited regulations by transferring the name of the Ellerslie Town District from the list headed “Road Districts” to the list headed “Town Districts,” and doth hereby order and declare that the said Fourth Schedule shall be read and construed as if the Ellerslie Town District had been originally included under the heading “Town Districts.”

Authorizing the Tamaki West Road Board to reclaim Land at Pipimea Head, Kohimarama, Auckland Harbour.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings at Wellington, this fifteenth day of February, 1916.

Present:
THE RIGHT HONOURABLE W. F. MASSEY, P.C., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it is provided by the forty-second section of the Harbours Amendment Act, 1910 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), that the Governor may from time to time by Order in Council authorize any local authority to reclaim areas not exceeding five acres in extent in any case where he considers that the reclamation will not affect navigation and is for the benefit of the public; and in such case it shall not be necessary to obtain a special Act:

And whereas the Tamaki West Road Board (hereinafter called “the Board”) has applied to the Governor in Council for authority to reclaim certain land, in area one acre, from the sea in Auckland Harbour, for an approach to the wharf at Pipimea Head, and in accordance with the provisions of the said Act has deposited a plan in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington, marked M.D. 4553, showing the area of the land to be reclaimed and the manner in which it is proposed to construct the reclamation:

And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor in Council that the proposed work will not be or tend to the injury of navigation, and is for the benefit of the public:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Board to reclaim certain land from the sea in Auckland Harbour, for an approach to the wharf at Pipimea Head, as shown on plan marked M.D. 4553; such reclamation to be carried out and constructed in accordance with plan marked M.D. 4553, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

WHEREAS by section twenty-six, subsection one, of the Appropriation Act, 1915, it is provided that, notwithstanding any Act to the contrary, it shall not be lawful or competent for any local authority or for any Harbour Board, during the present war with Germany, to borrow or contract to borrow any money (otherwise than by way of bank overdraft within the limit of its powers, if any, in that behalf) whether from the State Advances Office or from any other source whatever, and whether in pursuance of a special
