And whereas it is expedient that such lands should be appropriated for public recreation-grounds, being reserves within Class III of the aforesaid Act :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said lands shall, from and after the thirteenth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, be appropriated for public recreation-grounds under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 ; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being Reserve 1475, situated in Block IV, Orari Survey District, and bounded as follows : On the north-east by a public road, 1446 links ; on the south by Section 29010, 1084 links ; and on the west by a public road, 960 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. I/267A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Reserve 2276, situated in Block III, Orari Survey District, and bounded as follows : On the north by Section 30851, 413·3 links ; on the north-east, east, and south by a public road, 185·5 links, 787 links, and 560 links respectively ; and on the west by Section 30851, 900 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. I/267B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Cancelling the Reservation over Portion of a Primary Education Endowment in the Southland Land District, and reserving Crown Land in lieu thereof.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section thirty-seven of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1914, it is enacted that the Governor may, by Warrant under his hand, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest so to do, cancel the reservation over any education reserve or endowment vested in the Crown, pursuant to the Education Reserves Amendment Act, 1910, or over any part thereof, and to reserve in lieu thereof either an area of equal value of national-endowment land over which the reservation has likewise been cancelled pursuant to that section, or an area of equal value of ordinary Crown land :
And whereas the Governor deems it expedient in the public interest to cancel the reservation over the portion of the primary education reserve described in the First Schedule hereto, and to reserve in lieu thereof the area of Crown land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by section thirty-seven of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1914, do hereby cancel the reservation over the portion of the primary education reserve described in the First Schedule hereto, and do hereby reserve in lieu thereof the Crown land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF PORTION OF PRIMARY EDUCATION RESERVE OVER WHICH RESERVATION CANCELLED.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 70 acres, more or less, situated in Blocks II and III, Garvie Survey District, being part of Run No. 326, and bounded as follows : Commencing at a point in the boundary between Nokomai and Garvie Survey Districts, 177·4 links east of Trig. K ; thence towards the north by Run No. 423A, 12500 links ; towards the east by the Dome Burn, 1150 links ; and towards the south generally by the other part of Run No. 326, 1370 links, 390·9 links, 353·2 links, 415·7 links, 717·7 links, 211·9 links, 1934·8 links, 939 links, 4161·1 links, 300·5 links, 144·4 links, 781·4 links, 456·4 links, 621·9 links, 301 links, and 85·2 links, to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1912/1221, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND RESERVED IN LIEU THEREOF.
All that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 469 acres, more or less, situated in Block V, Nokomai Survey District, being part of Run No. 398, and bounded as follows : Commencing at a point in the boundary between Nokomai and Garvie Survey Districts, 177·4 links east of Trig. K ; thence towards the north-east and north-west generally by the other part of Run No. 398, 341·7 links, 841·5 links, 686 links, 1851·7 links, 712·9 links, 1499·4 links, 3884·6 links, 2109·1 links, 954 links, 2240·8 links, 1381·2 links, 464·6 links, 2462·7 links, and 781 links ; and towards the south by Run No. 326, Garvie Survey District, 14665·1 links, to the point of commencement : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1912/1221, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Auckland Land District for other Land.
LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section seventeen of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive by way of equality of exchange any sum not exceeding twenty-five per centum of the estimated value of the Crown land so granted :
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange :
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.

All that area in the Auckland Land District being Allotment 145, Waipareira Parish, and containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less. Bounded towards the north-east and south-east by Allotment 133, Waipareira Parish, 377 and 930 links respectively ; towards the south-west by Allotment 27 of the same parish, 700 links ; and towards the north-west by a public road, 983·2 links : be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 2/35A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
