And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 17th day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly passed by the Kawhia County Council at a meeting of the said Council held on the 18th day of December, 1915.

WAIPARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Waipara County Council hereby resolves as follows:—

That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on the loan of five thousand pounds (£5,000), authorized to be raised by the Waipara County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the construction of a traffic-bridge over the Hurunui River, and the acquisition of land for roads to provide access to the bridge, and cost of fencing such roads acquired, the Waipara County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of three-farthings in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area comprising Rural Sections numbered 20048, 26348, 36309, 24484, 36310, 26347, 20497, 20496, 20499–20500, 36498, 18598, 36305, 32746, 36629, 20054, 25431, 30828, 18596, 18595, 18597, 25484, 26292, and part of Rural Sections 20047, 26288, 20045, 25808, 26346, 36295, 20055, 18598, 24451, 20046, 26290, 26291, 25435, 26289, 36304, 20498, and being Blocks I, II, III, IV, V, VII, VIII, XIII in the Weld and Stonyhurst Survey Districts—commencing at a point on the Ocean Beach, the same being the junction of the Hurunui River on its southern bank with the ocean; thence westerly generally along the southern bank of the said river to a point in line with the south-western boundary-line of Lot 3, deposit plan 2275; thence south-easterly along the said boundary of Lot 3, deposit plan 2275, to the northern boundary of Lot 1, deposit plan 2434; thence easterly along the northern boundary of said lot to the road forming the western boundary of Lot 1, deposit plan 4271, and 6, deposit plan 2979; thence south-easterly along that road to the southern boundary of Lot 5, deposit plan 2979; thence westerly along the said boundary to a point in line with the north-western boundary of Rural Section 2543; thence south-westerly along that boundary to the westernmost corner of the said section; thence south-easterly across a road and along the south-western boundary of Rural Section 30828 to its southernmost corner; thence north-easterly along the south-east boundary of the said section to the south-western boundary of Rural Section 25484; thence south-easterly along the last-mentioned boundary to the high-water mark of the ocean, and from thence generally north-easterly along the said high-water mark of the ocean to the mouth of the Hurunui River, the place of commencement. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the twenty-fifth day of March and the twenty-fifth day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I certify that the above is a true copy of a resolution passed by the Waipara County Council on the 4th day of January, 1916.

THOMPSON MARUIA HYDRAULIC SLUICING COMPANY (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that the Thompson Maruia Hydraulic Sluicing Company (Limited) has passed the following special resolution:—

“That, owing to the unsatisfactory position of its affairs, the company hereby agrees to go into voluntary liquidation; and that Mr. George Ross, of Wellington, Accountant, be appointed Official Liquidator of the company.”

I, THOMAS KENT McALPINE, Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, St. Louis University, 1909, Licentiate College Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia, Canada, now residing in Auckland, hereby give notice that I intend applying on the next to have my name placed on the Medical Register of the Dominion of New Zealand; and that I have deposited the evidence of my qualification in the office of the Registrar of Births and Deaths at Auckland.

TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Tauranga Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:—

  1. That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of seven hundred and fifty pounds (£750), authorized to be raised by the Tauranga Borough Council, under section 18 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of completing the work of constructing, providing, establishing, and furnishing a town hall for municipal offices and other purposes of public enjoyment and recreation (being ten per cent. additional on a special loan of seven thousand five hundred pounds (£7,500) authorized to be raised by a poll of the ratepayers taken on the 30th day of October, 1913, the said loan of £7,500 having proved insufficient for the said purpose), the said Tauranga Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of one penny in the pound upon the annual rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of Tauranga, comprising the whole of the Borough of Tauranga; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the first day of January in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six and a half (36½) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

At a meeting of the Tauranga Borough Council held on the 13th day of December, 1915, the foregoing resolution was proposed by Councillor H. W. Wilding, and seconded by C. Whiting, and carried.
