WAIRAU ROAD BOARD.
THE following resolutions were duly passed at a meeting of the above Board held on the 10th December, 1915:—
- “In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Wairau Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and other charges on the loan of £600, authorized to be raised by the said Board, under the Road Boards Act, 1908, and its amendments, and by section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908, and by virtue of a Warrant dated the 18th day of May, 1914, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Governor, and gazetted in the New Zealand Gazette on the 21st day of May, 1914, page 2110, for the purpose of paying the amount of the Wairau Road Board’s contribution towards the cost of the erection of a bridge authorized to be erected by the aforesaid Warrant over the Opawa River on the Picton to Blenheim Road, the said Wairau Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one one-hundredth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairau Road Board District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five (5) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.
- “In pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Wairau Road Board hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing for the payment of interest and other charges on the loan of £2,270, authorized to be raised by the said Board, under the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Act, 1909, and under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, for the purpose of paying the amount of levies made by the Wairau Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for capital works, the said Wairau Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of one-thirtieth of a penny in the pound sterling on the rateable value (on the basis of the capital value) of all rateable property in the Wairau Road Board District; and that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st days of December and June in each year and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of five (5) years, or until the loan is fully paid off.”

BRUCE COUNTY COUNCIL.
I, WILLIAM ROY, Clerk to the Bruce County Council, do hereby certify that the following special resolution, making a special rate under section 20 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, was duly passed by the Bruce County Council on the 8th day of February, 1916.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1913, the Bruce County Council hereby resolves as follows:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £1,800, authorized to be raised by the Bruce County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of deepening and extending the Tuakitoto and Kaitangata Lakes Canal and providing a modern lock for the same, the said Bruce County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of fifteen-sixteenths of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the special-rating area known as the Lakes Drainage District, comprising Blocks II to XII (both inclusive), South Tuakitoto Survey District; Sections 4, 5, 6, and 7, Block VII, Sections 3 and 4, Block VIII, and the whole of Block IX, North Molyneaux Survey District. And that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the first day of February and the first day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of 36½ years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Hamilton Borough Council proposes to execute certain public works—to wit, the erection of abattoirs, for which purpose the following lands require to be taken by the Hamilton Borough Council under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, that is to say:—
All that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing 1 acre 2 roods 32 perches (more or less), being part of Allotment Number 257 of the Parish of Kirikiri roa, bounded towards the north by a road, 755·4 links; towards the east by a road, 451 links; and towards south-west by a road, 892·9 links.
And also all that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 72 acres 3 roods 20 perches (more or less), being Allotments 258, 259, and 260 of the Parish of Kirikiri roa.
A plan of the lands required to be taken as aforesaid is open for inspection at the residence of Mr. Richard Hudner, Allotment 231 of the Parish of Kirikiri roa (Hamilton-Cambridge Road).
All persons affected are hereby called upon to set forth in writing any well-founded objections to the execution of such works or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing to the Hamilton Borough Council within 40 days from the date of the first publication of this notice.

TE OREORE WATER-SUPPLY DISTRICT.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that, under the provisions of section 5 of the Water-supply Amendment Act, 1913, Messrs. WALTER CAMERON, GEORGE MCKAY, ALFRED JOSEPH PERCY, FRANK EDWARD JOHN RATCLIFFE, and ALFRED HARRY TINKHAM have been appointed Managers of the Te Oreore Water-supply District.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following extraordinary resolution has been duly passed by the members of the above-named company in manner directed by the Companies Act, 1908. The said resolution was passed and confirmed respectively at properly constituted meetings held on the 10th September, 1915, and 28th September, 1915.
