COOK COUNTY COUNCIL.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Patutahi Riding taken on the 1st day of February, 1916, on the proposal of the Cook County Council to borrow the sum of £1,200 for the purpose of erecting a high-level bridge across the Waikaahu Stream at Lavenham, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 76; against the proposal, 17.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of the Manunui Town Board, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913.

MANUNUI TOWN BOARD.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 12 of the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Town District of Manunui was taken on the 6th day of October, 1915, on the proposal of the Manunui Town Board to borrow the sum of £2,250 for—

(a.) A loan of £2,000 for the purpose of providing water-supply, reticulation, and appliances in connection therewith;
(b.) A loan of £200 for the purpose of erecting municipal buildings; and
(c.) A loan of £50 for the purpose of surveying and plotting a portion of the Manunui Cemetery Reserve.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 33.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 4.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Bellamy Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from 31st March, 1915.

Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 410 acres 3 roods 32 perches, more or less, being Sections 12, 13, 14, part 5, Block I, and 15, Block III, Beaumont District, together with three unnumbered pieces of Crown land, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the north-east corner of Section 14, Block III, Beaumont District; thence towards the north by a public road, 653.4 links; by the crossing of a public road; generally towards the north and east by a public road and the Milton-Beaumont Railway Reserve, 12566.9 links; towards the south by Sections 23, 22, and 15, Block I, Beaumont District, 11190.9 links; towards the west by a public road, 2661.3 links; towards the south by the crossing of a public road; again towards the south-west by Section 16, Block III, Beaumont District, 1284.1 links; towards the north-west by Section 14 of said block and district, and Crown land, 1700.7 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: and excepting from the above-described boundaries a public road one chain wide, a deduction for which has been made from the area.

Also all that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,087 acres 3 roods 29 perches, more or less, being Sections 8, 9, part 10, Block I, part 6, part 7, Block II, Beaumont District, Sections 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, part 4, Block II, 69, part 54, and part 58, Block III, Tuapeka West District; together with a closed road and an unnumbered piece of Crown land, and bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-west corner of Section 6, Block I, Beaumont District; thence towards the north by said section and a closed road, 5056.1 links; towards the east by Section 11 of said block, 1654.3 links; towards the north by said Section 11, the crossing of a public road, by said section, a public road, and again by said section, 4755.6 links; towards the west by said Section 11, the crossing of the Milton-Beaumont Railway, and again by said section, 3184 links; towards the north-east by a public road, 7719.1 links; by the crossing of a public road, 469.3 links; towards the north-east by a public road, 5347.8 links; towards the east by Sections 53, 52, 68, 56, Block III, Tuapeka West District, 3680.5 links; towards the south by Section 55 of said block, 5650.8 links; towards the west by a public road, 500 links; by the crossing of said road; towards the south-east by Sections 18, 19, 20, Block II, Tuapeka West District, 9865.3 links; towards the south-west by Section 51, the crossing of a public road, and Section 54 of said block, 12098.9 links; thence towards the west by a public road, 9617.6 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: and excepting from the above-described boundaries two public roads each one chain wide, one public road 50 links wide, and a public road constituting a crossing of the Milton-Beaumont Railway, deductions for all of which have been made from the area.

As the same are more particularly delineated on plan No. 21/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, Wellington, and thereon edged with red.
