Altering Boundaries of Waikohu and Wairoa Counties.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it is provided by subsection two of section three of the Counties Amendment Act, 1913, that the boundaries of any one or more counties may be altered in accordance with a resolution proposing the alteration passed by the Council of each of such counties in which the principal Act is in force :

And whereas a resolution was passed by the Wairoa County Council on the eleventh day of August, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the eighth day of September, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, praying for the inclusion in the Wairoa County of that part of the Waikohu County described in the said resolutions and in the First Schedule hereto :

And whereas a similar resolution was passed by the Waikohu County Council on the thirteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, and sealed with the seal of the said county on the same day :

And whereas it is expedient to make such alteration in accordance with the said resolutions :

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred on me by the said Act, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare that the area described in the First Schedule hereto, being now part of the Waikohu County, shall, as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, be deemed to be added to and form part of the Wairoa County; and, with the like power and authority, do proclaim and declare that the boundaries of the Counties of Waikohu and Wairoa respectively shall as from the aforesaid date be those set forth under their respective headings in the Second Schedule hereto.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

AREA EXCLUDED FROM WAIKOHU COUNTY AND ADDED TO WAIROA COUNTY.

ALL that area bounded by a line commencing at the confluence of the Makomuka Stream with the Ruakituri River; thence along the left bank of that river to a right line running from Puketapu Trig. Station to the summit of Mangapowhatu Mountain; thence along that line to the boundary between Tahoma 2F Section 1 and 2F Section 2; thence along that boundary to the northernmost corner of Lot 18 of Tahoma 2F Section 2; thence along the north-eastern boundary of the aforesaid Lot 18 to Sub-Trig. Station A, the southernmost corner of Tahoma 2C 1 Section 2; thence along the northern boundaries of Lots 23 and 24 of Tahoma 2C 1 Section 3 to the north-eastern corner of aforesaid Lot 24; thence along the eastern boundaries of the said Lot 24 and Lot 21 of Tahoma 2F Section 2 to the Mangatahae Stream; thence along the said Mangatahae Stream and the southern boundary of Lot 21 of Tahoma 2F Section 2 to the Makomuka Stream, and along that stream to the Ruakituri River, the place of commencement.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

WAIKOHU COUNTY.

ALL that area bounded towards the north-west generally by Opotiki County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 24th October, 1912, page 3042, from the summit of Mangapowhatu Mountain to the intersection of the western boundary of Huiarua No. 3 Block by a right line running from Kapua Trig. Station to Arowhana Trig. Station; thence towards the north-east by the said Huiarua No. 3 Block, Small Grazing-run 98, and Section 1, Block IX, Tutamoe Survey District, to its southernmost corner; thence towards the east generally by Cook County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette of the 9th May, 1912, page 1564, to the north-eastern corner of Section 1, Block VIII, Tuahu Survey District; thence towards the south generally by that section and the Mangatahae Stream to the south-eastern corner of Lot 21 of Tahoma 2F Section 2; thence by Lots 21, 24, 23, and 18 of Tahoma 2F Section 2 and 2C 1 Section 3 to and across the Ruakituri River, and by Tahoma 2 of 2F Section 2 to the intersection of its western boundary by a right line running from Puketapu Trig. Station to the summit of Mangapowhatu Mountain; and thence by the said right line to the summit of Mangapowhatu Mountain, the place of commencement.

WAIROA COUNTY.

All that area bounded towards the north generally by a right line from the intersection of the main road from Napier to Taupo by the Rangitaiki River to the northernmost point of Lake Waikaremoana; thence by a right line running in the direction of Puketapu Trig. Station to the Ruakituri River, across that river and by its left bank to a right line running from Puketapu Trig. Station to the summit of Mangapowhatu Mountain; thence by that right line to the western boundary of Tahoma 2 of 2F Section 2; thence by the Waikohu County hereinbefore described to Cook County, and thence
