That the amount of all moneys received on account of estates under administration during the half-year ending 31st day of October, 1916, is £91,928 17s. 2d.

That the amount of all moneys paid on account of estates under administration during the half-year ending 31st day of October, 1916, is £97,237 9s. 8d.

That the amount of the balance held to the credits of estates under administration during the half-year ending 31st day of October, 1916, is £16,751 19s. 3d.

That the liabilities of the company on the 1st day of November last were debts owing to sundry persons by the company, viz.: On judgment, nil; on specialty, nil; on notes or bills, nil; on simple contracts, £40,834 2s. 10d.; on estimated liabilities, nil.

That the assets of the company on that date were: Government securities, £2,500; bills of exchange and promissory notes, nil; other securities, £67,302 13s.; cash at banker's and on deposit, £10.654 17s. 4d.
And I make this solemn declaration conscientiously believing the same to be true, and by virtue of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand intituled the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

NOTICE UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS ACT, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Education Board of the District of Auckland intends to take, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purpose of a public school within the meaning of the Education Act, 1914, the following land, namely:
All that piece of land containing one acre and thirteen decimal two perches, being that piece of land situated in Block XIV of the Hastings Survey District, near the Thames, at Puru, and being the land marked N.L. upon the plan lodged in the Government Survey Office at Auckland as No. 12267R (blue), and being bounded on the south by the Te Karaka Block, on the north-west by the Hauraki Gulf, and on the east and north-east by a public road.
A plan of the said land is deposited at the post-office at the Thames, and is there open for inspection by all persons at all reasonable hours.
All persons affected are hereby required and called upon to set forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the erection of a public school or to the taking of such lands, and to send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Education Board of the District of Auckland, at its office, Williamson's Chambers, in Shortland Street, in the City of Auckland.

CHRISTCHURCH CITY COUNCIL.
RESOLUTION MAKING SPECIAL RATE.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of five thousand two hundred and fifty pounds (£5,250), authorized to be raised by the Christchurch City Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of paying off part of the loan known as "The Municipal Offices Loan" of six thousand pounds (£6,000) falling due on the 30th day of December, 1916, the said Christchurch City Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of eight two-hundred-and-ninety-thirds (8/293rds) of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (being the unimproved value) of all rateable property comprised within Central Ward,
as now constituted, of the City of Christchurch; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be payable yearly on the 30th day of June in each and every year during the currency of the loan, being a period of fifteen (15) years and ten (10) months, or until the loan is fully paid off.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Kotuku Oilfields Syndicate (Limited), a company incorporated in England but which has been carrying on business in New Zealand.
NOTICE is hereby given that the above-named company, the Kotuku Oilfields Syndicate (Limited), is not now actually carrying on any business in New Zealand, but in order to comply with section 307 of the Companies Act, 1908, it hereby notifies its intention to cease carrying on business in New Zealand at the expiration of three months after the first publication of this notice.

MOTOR REGISTRATION.
PURSUANT with sections 12 and 13 of the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, public notice is hereby given that the Makara County Council, at a meeting held on Wednesday, the 22nd day of November, 1916, resolved to become a Motor Registering Authority.
Public notice is also hereby given that Part II of the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, will be brought into operation throughout the County of Makara on Wednesday, the 27th day of December, 1916.
