Including the suburbs, the rate at Dunedin is the highest, and at Auckland the lowest.

The total births in the four chief cities and their suburban boroughs amounted to 534, as against 748 in October—a decrease of 214. The deaths in November were 233—a decrease of 53 as compared with the previous month. Of the total deaths males contributed 119, females 114. Forty-seven of the deaths were of children under five years of age, being 20·17 per cent. of the whole number; 33 of these were under one year of age.
There were 83 deaths of persons of 65 years and upwards in the four chief cities and their suburban boroughs, as against 107 in October. The following table shows the classification:—
