Award of Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-service Medal.

Wellington, 2nd November, 1916.
HIS Excellency the Governor has been pleased to approve
of the award of a Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long-
service Medal to
Captain CHARLES WILLIAM EDWARD CRIBB (since died
of wounds), 13th (North Canterbury and Westland)
Regiment,
he having a total service to the 30th June, 1915, entitling
him thereto of twenty-four years one hundred and seventy-
nine days.

Local Advisory Committee under the War Funds Act, 1915, appointed.

lations thereunder, I, George Warren Russell, being
the Minister administering the Act, hereby notify that I

In pursuance of the By-laws Act, 1910, I hereby confirm
the above-written by-law, and declare that the same came
into force on the 1st day of November, 1916.

Notice of Intention to take Land in the City of Auckland for the Purposes of a Post and Telegraph District Store.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the
provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute
a certain public work — to wit, the construction of a post and
telegraph district store in the City of Auckland, and for
the purposes of such public work the land described in
the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is
hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to
be taken is deposited in the Chief Post-office at Auckland,
and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected
by the execution of the said public work or by the taking
of the said land should, if they have any well-grounded
objections to the execution of the said public work or to
the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing,
and send such writing, within forty days from the first
publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington.
SCHEDULE.
APPROXIMATE area of the piece of land required to be taken :
3 acres 2 roods 14·5 perches.
Portion of Lot 7 of Section 11, Suburbs of Auckland (City of
Auckland), Block I, Otahuhu Survey District (S.O.19079).
In the Auckland Land District; as the same is more
particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 41198,
deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works
at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and
thereon coloured edged red.
As witness my hand, at Wellington, this 7th day of
November, 1916.

Mangonui County Council has, by special order, de-
clared gorse (Ulex europoeus) to be a noxious weed within the
meaning of the Noxious Weeds Act, 1908, in the district
under its jurisdiction.
