And whereas it is expedient that such land should be appropriated for a a public recreation-ground, being a reserve within Class III of the aforesaid Act :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, do by this notification declare that the said land shall, from and after the nineteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, be appropriated for a public recreation-ground, under Class III of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this notification shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 6 acres 1 rood 36 perches, more or less, being Section No. 133, Block I, Mangaone Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by the railway-line, 321·2 links, 50 links, and 262·1 links; towards the north-east by Mangatainoka K Block, No. 2c No. 3, 1484·3 links; towards the south-east by Jackson Street, 490 links; and towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 1 to 7, Block XIV, Township of Brownston, 1151·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 6/5/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.

Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Wellington Land District for other Land.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.
WHEREAS by section one hundred and forty-two of the Land Act, 1908, as amended by section seventeen of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1913, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it expedient in the public interest, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land which is subject to the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land, and on any such exchange to pay or receive by way of equality of exchange any sum not exceeding twenty-five per centum of the estimated value of the Crown land so granted:
And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto for the land of equal value described in the Second Schedule hereto, and the owner of the land described in the Second Schedule has agreed to such exchange:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the First Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the land described in the Second Schedule.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF CROWN LAND AUTHORIZED TO BE EXCHANGED.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre 1 rood 16 perches, more or less, being Section 50, Block I, Apiti Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Section 49, Block I, Apiti Survey District, 143·5 links and 345 links; towards the north-east by Mangamako Stream; towards the south-east by Tap Road, 570 links; and towards the south-west by Mangamako Road, 209·6 links and 230·9 links.
Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres, more or less, being Section 14, Block II, Apiti Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east generally by Mangamako Stream, and towards the south-east and south-west generally by Mangamako Road and by Tap Road, 789·5 links, 282·4 links, 265·2 links, 361·9 links, and 70 links.
Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/956, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
DESCRIPTION OF LAND TO BE OBTAINED IN EXCHANGE THEREFOR.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 2 roods, more or less, being part of Section 8, Block XIV, Hautapu Survey District. Bounded towards the south-east and south-west generally by Mangamako Stream, and towards the north-east generally by other part of Section 8 aforesaid, 190 links, 333·8 links, 306·6 links, and 50 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less. As the same is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 22/956A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixteenth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen.
