NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 326 of the Land Act, 1908, that the “map” education reserve, containing 865 acres, more or less, situated in Block VI, Motupiko Survey District, Nelson Land District, will be disposed of under the provisions of the Discharged Soldiers Act, 1915, on or after the 5th day of October, 1916.

Reserve in Canterbury Land District for Lease by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 5th September, 1916.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned reserve will be offered for lease by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, at 11 o’clock a.m. on Friday, 20th October, 1916, under the provisions of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.
RESERVE 3093, Blocks X and XIV, Halswell Survey District: Area, 8 acres; upset annual rent, £4 16s.; term of lease, seven years.
Situated in the Rabbit Island Village Settlement, between the main Christchurch—Little River Road and the Halswell River, about thirty chains northerly from the Motukarara Railway-station. Low-lying land, with light sandy loam soil.
ABSTRACT OF TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF LEASE.

The purchaser of the lease shall, immediately upon the fall of the hammer, deposit an amount equal to six months’ rent at the rate offered, together with £1 1s. lease fee.

The lease shall be for seven years, without right of renewal, and shall be subject to resumption by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land being required by the Crown.

The lessee shall have no claim against the Crown for compensation, either on account of any improvements that may be placed upon the land, or on account of the aforesaid possible resumption, or for any other cause; but he may, on the expiration or sooner determination of the lease, remove any fences or buildings erected by him on the land, but not otherwise.

The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or otherwise dispose of the whole or any portion of the land comprised in the lease, except with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown Lands first had and obtained.

The lessee shall destroy all rabbits on the land, and he shall prevent their increase or spread to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of gorse, broom, and sweetbrier on the land comprised in the lease; and he shall with all reasonable despatch remove, or cause to be removed, all noxious weeds or plants as may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

The lessee shall once a year during the said term, and at the proper season of the year, properly cut and trim all live fences now on the demised land, or which may be planted thereon during the said term.

The rent shall be payable half-yearly in advance, free from all deductions whatsoever.

The lease shall be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease within thirty days after the date on which the same ought to have been fulfilled.

Possession will be given on date of the sale.

Settlement Land in Canterbury Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Christchurch, 11th September, 1916.
NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned land will be offered for sale by public auction, for cash or on deferred payments, at the District Lands and Survey Office, Christchurch, on Wednesday, the 1st day of November, 1916, at 2.30 o’clock p.m., under the provisions of the Land Act, 1908, and amendments, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.
SCHEDULE.
CANTERBURY LAND DISTRICT.—PAREORA SURVEY DISTRICT.—ROSEWILL SETTLEMENT.
Town Land.
SECTION 3, Cave Village: Area, 1 rood; upset price, £25.
The section is close to the hotel and railway-station, and is at present used as a drying green.
TERMS OF SALE.
The purchaser may pay for the land in cash or by deferred payments extending over a period of nineteen years. The terms are—
(1.) Cash.—One-fifth of the purchase-money on the fall of the hammer, and the balance, with Crown-grant fee (£1), within thirty days thereafter.
(2.) Deferred Payments.—5 per cent. of the purchase-money and license fee (£1 1s.) on the fall of the hammer, balance by equal annual instalments extending over nineteen years, with interest payable half-yearly at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum on the unpaid purchase-money; but with the right to pay off at any time the whole or any part of the outstanding amount.
In either case if the purchaser fails to make any of the prescribed payments by due date, whether of purchase-money or interest, the amount (if any) already paid shall be forfeited and the contract for the sale of the land be null and void.
Titles will be subject to section 60 of the Land Laws Amendment Act, 1912.
