Timber in Auckland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.
District Lands and Survey Office,
Auckland, 19th July, 1915.
NOTICE is hereby given, in terms of the Land Act, 1908, and the regulations thereunder, that the undermentioned kauri timber will be offered for sale by public auction at the District Lands and Survey Office, Auckland, at 12 o’clock noon on Monday, 26th July, 1915, subject to the terms and conditions mentioned herein, and any other special conditions mentioned at the time of sale.
SCHEDULE.
THAMES COUNTY.
Crown Land, Part Block XIV, Hastings Survey District.
66 GREEN and dry kauri-trees, containing about 143,467 sup. feet (standing measurement).
Distinguishing brand, thus : X.
Upset price : £216.
Also weighted with £50, maximum valuation for timber roads (subject to adjustment by the Commissioner of Crown Lands).
Time for removal of timber : One year.
TERMS FOR PAYMENT.
One hundred pounds (£100) in cash on fall of hammer, together with timber-cutting license fee of £1 1s. and amount for roading as stated ; the balance of purchase-money payable in two equal instalments at six and nine months respectively thereafter. The instalment payments shall bear interest at the rate of 5 per cent. per annum as from the date of sale, and with the interest added shall be secured by “on demand” promissory notes endorsed by two approved sureties, such bills to be completed and lodged with the Commissioner of Crown Lands within fourteen days after notifying the purchaser to complete.
CONDITIONS.

Intending purchasers are expected to visit the locality and satisfy themselves in every particular on all matters relating to the sale.

The right is reserved to the Commissioner of Crown Lands to withdraw from sale the above lot of timber either before or during the time of sale.

The afore-mentioned quantity, quality, and kind as to the said timber shall be taken as sufficiently accurate for the purpose of this sale, and no contract for purchase shall be voidable, nor shall the purchaser be entitled to any abatement in price, by reason of the said timber being of less quantity, quality, and kind than as stated herein, or in any advertisement having reference to the said timber, nor shall any extra sum be claimed by the Crown if the said quantity of timber is found to be in excess of that stated herein.

All timber, whether standing, felled, or in logs, shall remain the property of the Crown until the instalments are paid.

The quantity stated is standing measurement, and only those trees bearing the special distinguishing brand are included in this sale.

Should any dispute arise as to the boundaries, the decision of the Commissioner of Crown Lands shall be final.

In the event of the above lot not being disposed of, applications may be received and dealt with at any time within six months from date of sale (unless previously formally withdrawn) ; provided, however, that the amount offered is not less than the upset price stated herein.

The owner of the cow-byre on Section 17, Block XIII, shall have the right to remove same after the sale, and former licensees of other sections may also remove their fencing in cases where sections have not been loaded with value of same.
Open, level sections, mostly in grass, situated about eight miles from Town of Invercargill.
