Applications invited for the Position of Assistant Teacher, Education Department, School for the Deaf, Sumner.

A PPLICATIONS will be received by the undersigned up till noon on the 31st July, 1915, for the position of Assistant Teacher, Education Department, School for the Deaf, Sumner.

  1. Applications, to be made on form P.S.C. 17A, obtainable at principal post-offices, must be addressed to the Secretary to the Public Service Commissioner, Wellington, and must embrace a statement of education and experience, particulars of age, &c.

  2. The age of candidates should be between eighteen and twenty-two years.

  3. Candidates should show that they possess a good education, an earnest spirit, a cheerful and amiable disposition, good character, and at least two years’ experience as a teacher of hearing children.

  4. The holding of a “D” certificate, or having passed the Matriculation or Public Service Examination, would be a recommendation.

  5. The appointment would be on probation for the first year.

  6. It is expected that the person appointed will advance himself in his profession by an approved course of study.

  7. If the person appointed should be required to take up the position of resident house-teacher, either continuously or from time to time, free board and lodging would be given during such time, in consideration of the extra duties performed.

  8. At the end of five years’ satisfactory service a certificate would be be given that the teacher had received training in the articulation method of instruction of the deaf.

The appointment will be subject to the provisions of the Public Service Act, 1912.

The position will be graded in the Educational Division. Salary, £110 ; maximum £170 per annum.

Special Regulations as to killing Native Game on Lake Wainono, Waimate District.

LIVERPOOL, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon me by the Animals Protection Act, 1908, I, Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby make the following regulations with respect to the killing of native game on Lake Wainono, in the Waitaki-Waimate Acclimatization District.

REGULATIONS.

  1. No device or structure made of rushes or other material shall be used as a mai-mai or other cover for the purpose of taking or killing feathered game on that portion of Lake Wainono, in the Waitaki-Waimate Acclimatization District; marked by posts numbered one to eight (1–8), and being an area of 150 acres or thereabout.

  2. No boat dressed or covered in any way shall be used on the above area.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this sixteenth day of July, one thousand nine hundred and fifteen.
