SUPPLEMENT
TO THE
NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE
OF
THURSDAY, JULY 1, 1915.
Published by Authority.
WELLINGTON, FRIDAY, JULY 2, 1915.
Teachers holding Certificates or Licenses under the Education Act, 1914.
Education Department,
Wellington, 30th June, 1915.
THE following list of teachers is issued in accordance with clause fifty-seven of the regulations respecting teachers’ certificates made by an Order in Council on the 13th February, 1912.
Reasons for promotion are indicated by the letters A, M, S, which stand respectively for “attainments,” “marks awarded by an Inspector,” and “length of service.” Any teacher that has been promoted can have a record of promotion endorsed upon his certificate on making application to the Department; and any teacher whose status has ceased to be provisional can obtain a full certificate on returning his provisional certificate.
In the column headed “Engagement” is inserted the name of the Education Board under which a teacher in a public school is acting, or an indication of other professional employment in education. (Private) in this column indicates teachers of private schools subject to inspection; the letters (M. & T.) denote instructors of recognized classes under the Regulations for Manual and Technical Instruction; a blank in this column signifies that a teacher was not engaged in the work of instruction as herein indicated at the end of 1914, or at the date of information received during the current year.
The word “Miss” is enclosed in square brackets in the case of married women whose maiden name alone is known to the Department.
In the summary at the end of the list certificated and licensed teachers are classified as employed or unemployed according as the column headed “Engagement” shows or does not show engagement in teaching-work. The names of teachers that are not known to have been engaged in teaching at any time during the past five years have been removed from the list.
J. ALLEN,
Minister of Education.
